I found it quite dissappointing for the food here . New paris is a well known restaurant for the past decades and it's been more than a year I didn't visit this place.I miss their Yam Basket so much. . .When our dish arrives, clear as you can see, it's not presentable at all. the mixed vege were simply scattered around the yam basket.. and the gravy was overflowed. I like to drink soup. Too bad city girl like me hardly have any chance to drink home cook soup. So when there is chance for me to order soup in any chinese restaurant. I will just order. This old cucumber soup is quite salty. They put too much of dried squid into it. The purpose of drinking soup is to kill of my thirsty but this soup doesn't serve that kind of purpose. It is a bit disappointed this time.

I really love the serving food speed in this restaurant. In my memories so far, I never seen them serve the food later than 10 minutes. The serving speed is real superb. But then sometimes having a headache for don't know what to order as the dish. So fried egg is always the best choice. Simple and delicious. Their fried egg here has onion and prawns. The egg taste a bit salty to brings up your appetite. The egg is very big too.

Yam Basket with chicken diceOne of my friend recommend to order this dish. Honestly I don't really eat yam, but i changed my mind after tasted this crispy and yummy yam basket. The taste is aromatically nice. The chicken dice taste sweet something like the marmite sauce. The meat is quite tender and i simply like it.Total bill is around RM138 for 7 of us. (RM20/ person). I find it very fair price with all the nice and unique chinese cuisine.

Deep Fried Pork KnuckleAlthough it looks ugly and over roasted from the presentation because they pre-chopped for us. However actually the meat underneath is tender and soft!! The skin is crunchy and chewable, nice marinated with great fragrance too. Added with the special sauce given, its delicious! I feel that it is much better and price wisely than those big and high end restaurants.

New Paris Restaurant can be very crowded during weekend. Almost all floors (4 storeys were occupied). However the food are served extremely fast. Don't need to wait for long. New Paris Restaurant is well-known in PJ area. The restaurant is large that occupied 4 stories of 3 shop lots. Ground floor is more to open air, and top floors are air-conditioned. Claypot bean curd with Mix mushroomThe bean curd comes with china mushroom, lots of shitakee mushroom, sliced carrot, green peas, etc. I like this clay pot because everything inside i like to eat but except the green peas. The bean curd is soft and the gravy is good for my rice.

When i first heard the name of the restaurant, I was surprised and thought it might be a very high-end or expensive restaurant due to the ''grand'' name it has ~ New Paris. Actually is a normal restaurant that served chinese cuisines.Their special homemade chili sauce, which is not spicy. A mix of sweet, sour and sambal with onions. Good to serve with any dish.Stir fried shanghai cabbage. Quite a normal dish but the vege is very crunchy.

This restaurant near my house is huge! It's a few floors high and they occupy 3 shop lots. It's always crowded whenever I pass by at 6pm onwards. Thankfully, there's plenty of space and they even have 'reserved parking' for customers right in front. If the parking in front is full, there's more behind the block. Despite the number of customers, food is always served amazingly fast, leaving no hungry customers waiting. The place is partially open since there are no windows (looks like a balcony)

Consider as one of the ugliest prawn ever. But the taste and texture wise is one of the most unique too. The kung po har gou here actually doesn't taste spicy. Instead, it taste more salty. I don't know why. Maybe that day the chef had a very salty mood, that's why all his dishes also become salty.

I like to order soup at this restaurant. The price is cheap and the serving speed is real fast. But then this old yellow cucumber soup is a bit disappointed to me on that day. When the soup almost end, it gets salty and salty. It is because there are dry squid in the soup. That's the reason.

Salted fish pork belly portion is quite small. Despite of having a small portion, I would say all the taste already concentrated in it. The salted fish fragrance surround the pork belly. The pork belly is very crispy. There is no sauce in it but then still it is very satisfied for me. The price for this dish is not too expensive too.

This pork is cooked with guiness stout. Don't worry, it doesn't has the very heavy oat taste. The taste is very sweet instead. The pork here quite similar to marmite cooking style. The sauce is thick and sweet. But the only differences with the marmite pork is the sauce has a little bit sourish taste in it.

I was wondering how good can the recommendation from Openrice.com.my. But was very very surprised with it!! I would start using this platform as my sifu to bring me around for food! Went to this New Paris Restaurant in SS2 area, that i have not visit for many many years on Last Father's Day celebration with my family. Ever eaten chinese cheese before? How about eat vegetable that fried together with it? Actually it has a very strong smell of it. Not everyone can accept the taste and smell. But that strong smell actually enhance the vegetable taste. It taste salty and with the strong smell. The sauce is good to eat with rice. The vegetable is crunchy and not over fried.
