Dine beside the lake! OK Sep 14, 2012

I never know such beautiful place existed until my best friendsuggusted to dine here on a fine afternoon and I nodded immediately!

There were frame of pictures hanging on the wall at the narrow pathway that leads you from the back door to the restaurant .

Louisiana has a very serene environment, embellish with warm lamp , yellow light, neat chairs and rectangular tables.

We prefer to dine outdoor, whereby we get to view the serene , not-too-clear lake, while enjoying the 'lake breeze'.
AH! One more thing I forgot to mention why we're there is because Yin wanna have buffet pasta.
It's a Eat All You Can concept, but with two conditions,
1) No Sharing
2) You must finish your plate of pasta before ordering the other one.

They have 8 types of pastas for you to choose, if possible, eat all 8 types !!!!
It only cost you RM15.90++ .

Here's Choulyin's 1st plate : Shrimp Pasta.
Typically good, with generous amount of chili flakes and thyme.

Well, again , am not a carb person so I ordered VIP Grill, er, something like that.
My plate of grill consist of Lamb, Chicken , and Dory Fish accompanied by not-very-fresh soggy-fries and rice.

Wasn't enjoying my VIP Grill because I think they can still be improved, Chicken was okay, but lack of some 'kick'; lamb were too hard to chew, whereas I hate Doryfish.. and I am not a carb lover...so.. ahem.

Clam seafood Pasta.
We somehow manage to share this because we were behaving and bewaring the existence of the garcon;
whenever they're not around, or not eyeing on us, I quickly swirl the pasta with a fork and stuff it into the mouth. You know, we are a very good pretender. ;)
The pasta did not fulfill my requirements as it's too soft, and very mild flavor of clams only.

Third serving, Carbonara Pasta, with pieces of chicken chunks and musrooms.
Now this is really good, no complaints at all.
Thickened gravy, creamy and rich mouthfeel with slight peppery flavor, (BUT THE TEXTURE OF PASTA).

I think the great-value here is the 'Eat all you can Pasta' for only RM15.90++
Will return to try more items on the menu!

Braised Bamboo Fish Head In Claypot

Wasn't sure what type of fish they used, but it was certainly deep-fried until remarkably crispy and fragrant , yet not greasy at all; then drenched in a type of brackish and a slight spicy black gravy. I even swallow the bones, I kid you not. It was utterly delectable, and makes me don't even wanna waste a single bone!!!

Fried Australian Asparagus with XO Sauce
I love the texture of asparagus as it's not too soft nor too hard to me to chew.
No matter how long you stir-fry it, it'll still reserve its very own characteristic , paired with XO sauce and dried shrimp, Each one of them was evenly coated with the infused shrimp flavor. I simply love it.

Braised Local Loh Mee

Thick and fat 'loh mee' immersed in thick corn starch egg gravy.
I love adding loads of vinegar to give an extra sourish pungency to the dish. It indeed triggers my appetite!

Sea Coconut with Red Date and White Fungus.
I love my nutritious dessert very much , they has a tiny hint of red dates sweetness in it, not overly sweetened; I also love the soft and 'slurpy' white fungus too!
Ladies, make sure you finish your white fungus, it contains loads of natural collagen!

I really enjoy the ambiance and good service at Lai Ching Yuen , but I think their price is slightly on the high side, and will re-visit occasionally if there's any promotion running.

Doubled Boiled Chicken with Clam and White Cabbage.

The soup comes naturally sweet, you can literally tell at the first sip, thanks to the chicken and cabbage.
The soup was so pure and clear, and ambrosial. Doubled boiled soup has actually 'locked' all the flavor in that particular tureen.

Deep Fried Golden Mushroom with Soft Shell Crab with Salt and Pepper

Crunchy and salty, with a lil bit hint of peppery spiciness ,all I can say was greasy, but satisfying.

Barbecue Roasted Pork with Honey

This was sinfully good. The lard layer that melts instantly when it touches your warm and 'cushiony' tongue; the moment you bite on the crispy-charred-outer-layer of the caramelized sugar- heavenly.

Homemade Beancurd with Angled Luffa Guard and Scallop

The beancurd was fantastically delicious, I love homemade soy product, I don't know why, but so far, I've never encounter not-tasty beancurd or tofu. Hehe.. Needless to say, the translucent-opaque gravy was mellow and gratifying.

Pineapple Fried Rice RM 18++
Too ordinary I would say, but overall acceptable and nothing to shout about.

Traditional Thai Tom Kha with Chicken RM 16++
The White Tom Yam soup has a distinct coconut aroma, but a silkier mouth-feel... not only delicious but pleasurable.
I think I whacked two bowls of rice because of this soup!

Phad Thai Noodle with Prawn and Egg RM 16++
Taste like Char Kway Tiao, minus the 'wok hei', but doesn't mean it's not tasty, don't be bias.
It's good, the soy sauce, egg fragrance, lots of tauge(bean sprout)to add an extra crunchiness to the dish...
yumz yumz!

Crispy Catfish with Mango Salad RM 20++
Thinly shredded catfish deep fried until remarkably crispy and crunchy, served together with the sourish mango salad.
Although I love the extremely crunchy texture, but I stil think that no catfish or any fish flavor can be detected. ;(

Pineapple Lamb in Coconut Sauce RM 30++
The lamb was unbelievably tasty, and the gravy was intensely rich and milky, with a very potent coconut milk flavor in it.
Despite the cholesterol , every simple goodness of the coconut milk is well appreciated.

Pan Fried Banana with Ice Cream RM 12++
Mushy-sweet warm banana paired with creamy-smooth banana = heavenly!

Fresh Mango with Sticky Rice RM 18++
The striking orangy mango juxtaposed with the pale yet taste amazing sticky rice, then smother with the creamy white coconut sauce - PURE HEAVEN!
It is indeed very simple but exotic Thai dessert !

If you're a Thai food lover, this is a place not to be missed, I solemnly believe that you will love Samira, their food, their setting, the tables and chairs, and even the koi fish pond outside of the restaurant!
Do check out this place !

Spicy Chicken with Chef’s Special Sauce RM 22++

Ahhh~!! Another favourite dish of mine that night! (I know I have too many favorite dish at Samira, but please believe me, I'm just telling the truth, it's freakin delicious!!)
The chicken was deep fried (again), you have to admit that deep fried food usually taste good, typically good, and extremely irresistible , especially when paired with Chef's 'Special Sauce', their secret recipe, let's not divulge here, you have to try this yourself . The chicken was still moist and tender when I took the first bite, how can I not tell the truth??!! *in love with the chicken* ;P

Traditional Thai Thick Tom Yam with Seafood RM 20++

Sometimes, the urge of having Thai Food just kick in, and you had totally no clue on where can you get a nice, warm bowl of tom yam, right? Now Samira seems to be the place that's already hammered into my mind - the walking food dictionary. Reasonable price, satisfaction guaranteed, nice ambiance... it's like all-in-one package!
The sweet and sour astringency was adjusted very well, not to sour, with a lil bit hint of spiciness, and the kafir lime leaf & lemongrass pungency.. A bowl of good Tom Yum can definitely zest you up!

Grilled Norwegian Salmon with Basil Leaves . (Price Not Available)
What a beautiful mess this is. I never had Salmon like this before, every time I had Salmon , it's either pan-fried or grilled with terriyaki sauce, never know that I can have something extraordinary at Samira. This dish was lightly brackish, with the smell of aromatic basil leaves, chili, and shrimp paste... It's very pleasant to my taste buds I must say.

Grilled Fish Fillet in Banana Leaf RM 32++

Good food mustn't always be complicated. A simple fillet enveloped in banana leaf , then wrap with aluminium foil , simply serve with a squeeze of lime juice , that's already very apptizing! yummm~

Thai Massaman Curry with Beef RM 28++

Thick and rich coconut flavor, not very spicy, but I can literally tell they used loads of herbs and spices to create such mouth-watering curry. It goes very well with a bowl of hot-steamed rice...;)

To sum up my dinner, I really had a great and satisfying thai meal that nice!
I particularly love the thai chicken the MOST!!!! Must try!
