Wanted to try for it for quite sometime and finally pay a visit on 10/6/16. Initially thought they still have the salted egg yolk pie and too bad have been told that it's been discontinued quite some time. Argh, I have yet to try on it, I hope a pie thing will make it a come back in the near future time. I had ordered the Spicy BBQ chicken with cheese Gravy, it's delicious although is totally non spicy ( I don't know why they are given the name of spicy BBQ chicken, frankly it's taste sweet, lol

I always wondered if there is any shop that can make better pies and not just only apple pies that my mom bakes all the time. Walah. There's one shop which just sells only pies! What's amazing is that you can have the pie in either as a dish or dessert. So head down to A Pie Thing to taste different types of pies that they can offer!

My friends and I have heard great reviews about A Pie Thing, but never got a chance to visit because that isn't the area we are near each time we are out. So when we got together for a mini food adventure, this was on our list of places to try. Though we were already quite full from an earlier dinner when we arrived, there was still room for desserts which is something we were eyeing on as we got there. To no surprise that there were a lot of people as it was the weekend and it was a little over

To no surprise that there were a lot of people as it was the weekend and it was a little over dinner time when we arrived. The queue started right outside the entrance as you have to place your order at the counter before taking a seat while you waited for your pies.

The savoury pies looked really good and to have it topped with your choice of mashed potatoes and/or peas, it was tempting. But our stomachs could only take so much and we only wanted to try their sweet pies.

The first pie we got was the Smores Chocolate pie. Though in my eyes it seems more like a tart than an actual pie, but semantics doesn't matter because it is all in the taste.

You get either a choice of milk or dark chocolate - we ordered the latter so that it wouldn't be overly sweet. This was literally one of my favourite desserts ever! The bruleed marshmallow on the top was meltingly soft and sweet, mixed with the bitter dark chocolate and crunch tart in one bite was heavenly. Definitely a must try!

Another dessert we ordered is on of their popular ones - it is the Nutella pie with Vanilla ice cream. Truth be told, Nutella is not exactly my favourite thing in the world even though it seems to be everyone's chosen spread. But I obliged my friends and agreed to this because it came with a scoop of ice cream which I enjoy.

Though when I tried a bite, I quite liked it because they somehow managed to make the Nutella taste more chocolatey & less of the hazelnut after-taste which I detested. Plus mixing the warm tart with cold ice cream was gooooood!

Need to be back to try the rest of their pies - savoury and sweet. :3

Other Info. : Everything is made in-house. They use pie crust as a base rather than the conventional puff pastry.

My friend recommended A Pie thing for their delicious sweet and savoury pie. A pie thing is located at Damansara Utama, PJ. Therefore, I planned to try them as the Dark Chocolate S’mores attracted me. A cafe serves limited sweet and savoury pie. The cafe was filling up quickly for dinner therefore; it is difficult to get a table. You have to order and pay at the counter. After payment, they will write a number on the bill and once the food is done they will call your number to collect the food.

The ambiance of the cafe has a good lighting and amazing place to hang out with friends. I ordered Dark Chocolate S’mores as the popular savoury pie was sold out (Pulled Lamb Pie and Chilli Cheese Pie) probably could try them in future.
Dark Chocolate S’mores is a thin crust pastry with chocolate filling and barbecued marshmallows. The marshmallows were crunchy outside while spongy in the middle. Yummy!!

It was a perfect dessert for us. The dessert was small for RM 10.50 but taste wise it was yummy. So it is up to you people to decide whether it value for money or not? Because for me, I can have it once in a while and not on a frequent basics.

My friend ordered the Chicken Pie as he is a traditionalist. The chicken is quite tender. After trying a few pies, I think that I am not a fan of pies currently.

I ordered the Green Curry Fish Pie which has quite a unique taste. I like the tanginess of the curry and preferred this compared to the other pie.

Perhaps next time I should try the S'Mores which is famous here.

The Earl Grey Latte (RM 11.50) is quite tasty. The taste is not too strong but the earl grey permeates throughout.
