The spicy crispy chicken is very alike with the Shihlin Taiwan Snacks. The skin is crispy while the insides are juicy. Not too salty, just right. The best thing is that they cut the chicken up in slices for easy consumption. I like the fact that the chicken doesn't smell weird, as sometimes the Shihlin Taiwan Snacks' chicken has a bit of smell. Overall a great dish, most recommended!

The braised beancurd sheets and egg comes with most set orders. The beancurd sheets are braised well with brackish brown sauce. The beancurd sheets soaks up the goodness of the brown sauce when you bite into it, heavenly! Together will a braised whole egg, the combination is very flavourful and definitely enjoyable. The price is also decent and reasonable.

I have always been a fan of Taiwan sausage, so when I saw that Formosa offers this, I immediately ordered. The Taiwan sausage is very juicy, especially due to the fact that they have bits of fat in it. They serve sausage sliced for easy consumption. They also have slices of garlic served together as well. Having the sausage and garlic in one mouthful definitely enhanced the flavour. Most recommended!

The braised pork rice in Formosa is quite nice. Fluffy and warm rice served with lots of sliced braised pork together with salted vegetables. I thought the braised pork was sliced to small, but the brown sauce that accompanies it was very nice. The salted vegetables had a tinge of spiciness to it due to the chilli slices being put in. Overall a very good meal. Definitely recommended.

This branch in SSTwo mall is a few more installation after Sg Wang and Kuchai Lama. It is a small shop in this quiet mall that catered around 5 tables only and with an open kitchen concept just like the Sunway branch.

Hot Crispy Chicken Set (RM13.90) comes with bubble milk tea, salted fried chicken, braised egg with tofu skin roll, and rice with pickled vegetables. All the dishes were served hot, and still tax free!

Dry Noodles with Minced Pork (RM7). This is somewhat like the Taiwanese ‘jia-jiang’ noodle – or braised tofu sauce noodle. But this combination is based on the braised sauce recipe for their braised pork rice. Noodles are springy and tasted good with lard from the minced pork, mixing it with taugeh, cucumber and carrots makes it a light bowl of noodle to munch on.

Lu Rou Fan (braised pork rice). It was served with braised pork topped with salted vegetables. The soy sauce used to braise the ground pork was just nice, not too salty. The minced pork was made of half fats and half meat, which was tender and juicy. The salted vegetable with some chilli slices contribute more saltiness to the dish. The salted vegetable were crunchy.

Oyster mee sua set. The set included a bowl of oyster mee sua, braised fuchuk and a whole braised egg. The hot mee sua was made of wheat flour, soft, thin and springy. This dish came with two pieces of oyster, big, fat, succulent and juicy. The braised egg and fuchuk was soft and taste of herbs. The mee sua soup was thick, gluey and the saltiness level was just nice. The fried flaky squid skin added some texture to the mee sua.

Taiwanese Sausage with Glutinous Rice (大肠包小肠)
We ordered Taiwanese Sausage with Glutinous Rice at Formosa as tea time snack when shopping in SS2 mall weeks ago. It looked almost the same as the one we ate in Taiwan but there was still a gap in term of the taste. Wrapped within the chewy glutinous rice, the taiwanese sausage was smoky with refreshing cucumber slices. Portion was good enough as a light snack during tea time.

Formosa Restaurant is basically the Taiwanese version of Esquire Kitchen. Braised Pork Rice @ RM 4.90
It's a dish of chef's recommendation which certainly worths the value of money with the semi-fat pork slices and a bowl of rice. The sauce is quite thick but mild in taste, while the pork slices are quite juicy for me, not the best i have tried though. It is just right in saltiness when goes with the white steamed rice.

Only for RM4.90, you can get a decent bowl of rice with meat; Where else can you find such a good bargain? Simple yet delicious, I love it!

The fried chicken came in a set with a bowl of lo bak rice. Although the fried chicken looks big, it had too many bones with it. Thus making eating it requires a lot of work. The chicken was fried prior serving, making the flour coating very crispy. However, the chicken was not fragrant at all and was a little too salty for my liking.

At the first glance, I read the shop as Farmosa. Then I read again. Eh... it is actually Formosa and not Farmosa. It smell and tastes like herbal egg. Too bad I only being served with half of the egg. The small plate of cabbages and fry taufu make the meal a complete healthy meal.
