Syok-ing Thai cuisine Smile Jul 07, 2015

Our lunch was started with mango salad and tom yam soup. The mango salad was sour due to the green mango and there are some hint of chili padi around it. The mango was crunchy.

The tomyam soup was delicious. It was really soup and spicy. It consisted of clams, squid and fish fillet. This dish is a must-order when you dine here.

The main dish was the King Rama V fried rice that was served with chicken, fish fillet, raw onions, green mango, egg and cut chilies. The fish fillet was deep fried and it was crispy at the side, while soft at the inside. The chicken however was too sweet for my liking. The fried rice if eaten alone was too plain. If mixed with all the ingredients, it was good.

The pandan chicken was really fragrant. When I unwrapped the pandan leave, the chicken was soft and well-marinated.

The phad thai consisted of prawns, squid and chicken, egg and beansprouts. The beansprouts were fresh and crunchy. The prawns were big and fresh too. The phad thai however was really too sweet.

The dessert was tub tim krub. It was really good, fully ladent with santan and blended really well with the ice! I did not taste ice cubes in it! Strongly recommending this one too.

Basically, ThaiSyok is really a good place to dine. Affordable pricing with quality meals.

CZ Beef Burger. Wangsa Grill is manned by Masterchef Judge, Chef Zubir and coincidentally he was there at the kitchen that night! We were delighted. The CZ Beef Burger consisted of 200g beef patty, smoked beef, melted cheese, avocado salsa with homemade BBQ sauce. The beef patty was extremely tender and juicy. I especially love the avocado salsa with its homemade sauce as it tasted very delicious and addictive. A strongly recommended dish!

Beef Aglio Olio. My colleague wanted to have aglio olio but she does not wanted to have seafood. The Captain went and consult Chef Zubir and asked whether is possible to change to beef and Chef Zubir said yes! So, there he went, created a beef aglio olio for my colleague. The beef cubes were tender and the spaghetti was filled with garlic taste. Indeed, it was delicious.

Roti Curry. My brother was feeling quite full that afternoon, he opted for the roti curry. This curry chicken came with toasted bread crumbs. Indeed, it tasted good when we dipped the bread crumbs together with the curry. The bread crumbs were crispy. The curry chicken was sweet, and it suited my brother's taste bud but not me. The curry was thick and the taste was light.

Ribena Longan Smile Sep 30, 2013   (Related Review)

Ribena Longan. I have heard some good reviews from the restaurant and decided to give it a try. During lunch hour, the restaurant was packed to the brim and the service was slightly unattentive during this time. The ribena longan was quite sweet with the combination of the sweetness from the longan as well as the ribena. The drink was thick and refreshing. Good order.
