If you ever come across Padi House Restaurant and you love hot and spicy food, then must try their Stir Fried Dry Shrimp Fish Rice. It is very hot and 'ichiban' as you will sweet after finishing the dish. The fish is deep fried and cooked with a lot of chili padi and curry leaves. It is something like chinese style cooking that called 'kam heong'. The onion was added to add more flavor to the dish. This dish is served with plain rice and some cracker in rectangular plate with nice presentation instead of the normal round plate. Hence the portion looked bigger and more temping.

Yummy Bah Kut Teh Smile Jan 21, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Bak Kut Teh

The main different between Bah Kut Teh at Klang Lama and most places in Kuala Lumpur is, no pork meat ball and mushroom in the soup. At Ah Wang Bah Kut Teh, we are served with a lot of pork meat. With every spoonful taken from the dish, there is a big chunk of lean meat. But generally, you’ll need to know what you want to order. You can specify the order as which part of the meat that you want : fatty, lean, half-fat / half-lean, ribs, leg or spare parts.

The soup tasted like thick black caramel soy sauce with little bit of herbal taste. It is also served in one whole hot clay pot instead of multiple small bowls. Hence the temperature of the soup last longer. A scoop of the soup warm your heart and makes you want for more scoops.

Spaghetti Aglio Olio Smile Jan 21, 2012

My friends always said lets have "mee di sebalik udang" for lunch. Then I once got an opportunity to tried the alio olio spaghetti. Then it becomes "spaghetti behind the prawn.

The giant shrimps become the hero in the dish. The fresh shrimps are sweet and juicy as you munch them. The tomato sauce has the special taste as beside sweetness and sourness, you can taste pepper and some wine in it. The spaghetti is springy for my liking too. The portion is just nice for one person. It came in a warmed plate with nice presentation. Hence it warm your heart while you enjoyed the dish.

There was one day, my boss suddenly invite all of us to have a lunch at Nando's at KLCC. Wow.. what a surprise as that was the first time he treated us big lunch. That was my first time dining at Nando's KLCC too. During the lunch time, we went out 30minutes earlier as Nando's shop in KLCC is always pack with people. Normally you need to wait for 20-30minutes before being served. The ambiance at Nando's KLCC is rather comfortable and the staff is very polite even thou pack with crowd during lunch time.

Even thou the chicken is a bit oily for my liking, the tenderness of the meat is worth of everything. Eating the chicken with Nando’s special sauce makes the meat become the STAR. As the meat become more juicy when adding the special sauce. The more spicy sauce you add, the more sweeting you will be. Taking the fries with peri-peri flavour is great too as it tastes like spicy snack.

After having our great lunch, we went back for work with full and smiley face. I still remembered the lunch cost him around RM200. Thank you, boss... You are the best.

Fish Head Mee Sua Cry Jan 19, 2012

I once visited 'Otak-otak place' restaurant and try their fish head mee sua (slim white noodles). I am quite disappointed with the dish. The soup is nice, but the fish head got no meat. Only fish head bone is given to me. The dish is being served with one small piece of fish head, some tomatoes, onion leaves and mee sua. The soup is being added santan and taste little bit like nyonya soup. When you drink the soup, you can taste the mixture of sweet, salty and chilli. Hence the soup turned out to be delicious. But the mee sua is too soft for my liking. The dish is being served in big bowl but the serving is not feeling. Hence I still feel hungry after the meal and I end up brought other snacks to eat at Tropicana City Mall.

But my friend tried the otak-otak nasi lemak before. They said it is nice. Maybe I will consider to try that dish. But I will never try the fish head mee sua again.
