KaraageThe coating was really flavourful with a tint of ginger, pepper and spices. I really would love to finish the whole plate but the oiliness put me off. If it was not so oily, I would have order an extra plate of this. I think this is their must-have dish as I spotted this kaarage on every table! YakitoriWe chose the black pepper chicken and soya sauce chicken yakitori. The soya sauce chicken yakitori was really good! The black pepper yakitori was nothing to shout about.

Yakitori

We chose the black pepper chicken and soya sauce chicken yakitori. The soya sauce chicken yakitori was really good! The black pepper yakitori was nothing to shout about.

Big Nabe Hot PotThis was the star of the night. It came in a big claypot with various ingredients such as fresh vege, tofu, chicken and udon (udon came in a seperate bowl). Big Nabe Hot Pot

This was the star of the night. It came in a big claypot with various ingredients such as fresh vege, tofu, chicken and udon (udon came in a seperate bowl). The fish broth was not thick but it has all the essences of the ingredients. It made us keep on drinking the broth! Oh, did I forgotten about the udon? which the restaurant is famous for. We poured the udon into the claypot and cook it for a minute. The udon has a spingy texture and it was good. Must-try!

I am a big fan of marufuku udon and every time I patronize the restaurant at Jaya One I would order the house special. You can have it hot or cold but hot is preferred choice every time I eat there. The egg is half boiled and I usually break the yolk to mix it with the udon to give it more taste and texture. The udon is made fresh daily so it is quite springy and had a chewy texture.

Oyako means parent and child. Chicken resembles the parent while egg resembles the child. The chicken was very tender and juicy while the egg was well cooked and smooth. I found it quite delectable. The udon was slurpilicious and until now it is still one of my favorite udon place! The seasoning of the noodle and condiments was mainly from the soup base which was rather condensed (salty and a little sweet) but it went well with the udon as the udon wouldn't absorb it. Niku means beef. It was not my first time being in udon restaurants, serving mainly udon. The first I have been to was Sanuki at Taman Desa. The texture of udon was nothing close to the crap I had at the earlier years. I was told Marufuku is owned by the same owner of Sanuki. True or not it does not matter. What matters most was the udon. The beef was very tender nevertheless. The gravy they used for dry udon was sweet and savory, similar to the Japanese soy sauce. When the gravy blended with the runny egg yolk, it was a blissful combination of gravy ;D

Here is always a long q but dont worry, it moving pretty fast The special udon is fresh, dense but soft and delicious. Topping with green onion and an egg. You can have a simple and quick lunch or dinner here because they serve the food quite fast. The price is consider reasonable for this kind of place and service. Good food is always famous and news about this udon in Marufuku Udon has caught my attention. The beef itself is semi-fatty and stringy like bacon, juicy and chewy. The stock is rich and salty, and the egg is so fluffy-soft. At RM10, this is the most expensive of their udon offerings and they are known for prices that are friendly for the regular diner.

The latest addition to Marufuku's menu is the mapo (tofu) udon. Spicy soft tofu with chicken meat - very peppery-spicy, which almost kills all other flavours, super silken-soft tofu, and bits of chicken meat. Overall not very filling, but as with all their udon dishes, the udon is super fresh, silky, and somewhat firm (almost al dente - which is how it should be).Not bad if you're in the mood for it, but generally I wouldn't pick this as my first pick.

Besides Sanuki in Taman Desa, this is the closest udon place in PJ. Trust me, their udon is good. They sell mainly udon and some fried finger food (that's what I called).Recently they have this new udon dish at RM8, which comes with fried chicken. Cheap, I would say. Recently they have this new udon dish at RM8, which comes with fried chicken. Cheap, I would say. The fried chicken was crispy and scorching hot. The udon was, as usual, smooth and slurpilicious. The ma po tu fu went very well with the udon; alittle spicy, loaded with lots of to fu. Despite the lack of meat in the noodle, it was pretty satisfying.

Kitsune Udon which is served with an option of cold or hot soup , in a fish based broth and topped with aburaage ( sweetened fried tofu), green vegetables and chopped spring onions. The meal is recommended eaten with a sprinkling of shicimi powder.
