Ocean Shabu Shabu (已結業)

By just eating the ingredients, one might not feel full. As such, we ordered a plate of udon to fill up the stomach. We put the udon in at the last stage and let it boiled. However, we over-boiled it and became too soft instead. Well, that was not a problem for. The udon was soft and still acceptable. It was plain and flavour and I had to dip it with some sauce to give it an heavier taste.

Sometimes, during steamboat session, I would try not to order vegetables as I feel the price is not worth it. However, a meal nutrition is not balanced without vegetables. So, we ordered this lettuce at the end. The lettuce was big pieces and were stacked together. It was fresh, thick and crunchy. When I dipped them into the soup, they were soft but still maintained the crunchiness.

Ocean Shabu Shabu is quite flexi in the sense that we could order "half portion" if we have less people. So, in this case, we order the half portion of mushroom meat balls which was three pieces. Some pieces of the mushrooms were embedded in the meat balls. The meat balls were solid, rough and springy in texture. It was not too salty. I love the slight mushroom taste in it.

Fu chuk has always been my favourite item regardless of what cuisine i.e yong tao fu, steamboat etc. Ocean Shabu Shabu came in a plate, and the portion was too little for the price that I am paying. The fu chuk was big pieces though. It was crispy and I could eat it just by itself. However, I still prefer to dip it into the steamboat hot soup to make it softer. The fu chuk was slightly salty and soft texture.

Beef Slices. Whenever we talk about shabu shabu, the best dish would be beef slices. I love to shabu shabu the beef slices myself as I could control the done-ness of the meat. Normally I would prefer mine to be medium-well. The beef slices were thinly cut and it was really tender. With a little bit of fats at the edges, it was good. It was not too salty as a whole. I love this.

这个闻起来很香，都有浓浓的花雕酒味道。本来还担心那么浓的酒味煮熟了还会不会在鸡肉里面结果是会的。鸡肉很软因为是鸡腿肉。不过缺点是在锅里煮熟了汤就会有酒的味道我觉得不是很好呢。

It is nicely sized to pop into the mouth but not filling the tummy. Each has its strong assorted flavour but personally I would prefer the rainbow meatball than this

Ocean Shabu Shabu serves Hong Kong style Steamboat and one of its key attraction is their meatballEach of these meatball is stuff with different ingredient like crab, pumpkin, seaweed, mint, yam if I remember correctly. Each meatball tasted uniquely and sharing is not recommended. They are strong in flavour and the meatball is nice to chew with. The texture of the meatball is smooth and each of this spice tend to boost its scent for ultra satisfaction.

I'm so into steamboat recently, and I'm quite satisfied with Ocean Shabu Shabu's soup base, so I am back in another outlet to try their famous meat balls. It is famous because it comes in rainbow color. I love the green color one which is infused with seaweed, which made the meat very flavourful and salty in a good way. The pumpkin orange coloured meat ball is quite bouncy too, and sweet for my liking. Overall, the meat balls are very bouncy and chewy, with right ratio of sweet and salty taste.F
