Wifey ordered the stuffed green chillies, which proved to be a good choice. The fish paste nestled in between the de-seeded green chillies were delectable, full of fish flavour. The green chillies itself were crunchy to the bite, and just slightly spicy, nothing too hot. It was served doused with some brown sauce. They cut the chillies into bite sizes before serving, which was good. Definitely recommended.

I saw the next table ordering some stuffed brinjals and decided to order the same, as they look quite nice. The dish came after a while, and it was warm. The fish paste in between the brinjals were flavourful and full of mouth bounce. I like the brinjals soft, and this dish definitely did not disappoint. It is served with some brown sauce, and three pieces cost RM3.50. Definitely well worth the amount paid.

The chee cheong fun in Restoran Jin Xuan Hong Kong comes with two different fillings, either fresh prawns or with BBQ pork. Since eating dim sum can be not very filling, especially for a big-eater like me, I usually like to stuff myself with some pau. I ordered the char siew pau, and it came in a jiffy. I like the fact that the pau is open-mouthed, which meant that it is well steamed and fresh. The pau is fluffy and piping hot, while the sweet-savoury filling of char siew in dark sauce is very delectable. Priced at RM4 for a set of two, it is well worth the amount paid.

Lau sar pau, or custard bun is one of my must-haves when I visit a dim sum restaurant. The lau sar pau in Restoran Jin Xuan Hong Kong is one of the better ones that I have tasted. The custard filling is very watery and sweet, which is good. Most of the lau sar pau that I've had usually has chunky custard filling which is not that great. A set of two buns costs RM4, well worth the amount paid.

For the Chinese, one couldn’t agree less with the wide use of pork as the main ingredient. Even breakfast, pork is probably an essential ingredient for Chinese dim sum. My love for dim sum might have arisen from the diverse choices of dim sum varieties.

Not to mention the many types of flavour and texture available. From the steaming dumplings, to fried cake and oven pastries, every bite can be different. At every dim sum restaurant, I like a taste of their porridge. So far, none has sufficed as the best. Having said that, the Rice roll (Chee cheong fun) did turned out to be rather tasty. Their steaming Char Siew Pau has got a great texture but the choices of meat used for their char siew filling don’t quite worked too well for me. It is not just the char siew filling that is overloaded with fats, the minced pork in most of their dumplings are also compulsively loaded with lots of fat meat. Good thing the there are many other choices of dim sum with fish paste.

My favourite Sticky Rice (Loh Mai Kai), isn’t the greatest. It was palatable, and great that they are fully cooked.

The shrimp dumpling has skin too thick it is hardly see through anymore. Since the shrimp is fresh, I supposed we can savour the freshness of the dumpling. If not, just order the fried dim sums. They are slightly better than the steamed dumplings. Mainly because most of it are of different ingredient.

Take note the fried stuff are a little oily. The rolled bean curd is really though in texture, not to mention it was really oily.

The prices are not entirely awesome but not too expensive and it ranges from about RM 3- RM 5, depending on what’s being ordered. The other good thing about this place is that air conditional dining is available so we can slowly enjoy the meal even under hot weather.

Chicken Feet. My father's favourite item in a dim sum restaurant is the chicken feet and steamed spare ribs. Jin Xuan version of chicken feet was not too bad. The chicken feet was soft and the skin was not too salty. I like to chew on the tendon which was jelly-like texture. The sauce coated the chicken feet nicely and this made a decent version of chicken feet. The portion was big too.

Stir Fried Loh Bak Gou. We visiting this restaurant at night, so they already prepared the loh bak gou at the counter. Upon ordering, they will just reheat it using microwave, which I do not like. They should cook it fresh upon ordering instead. The loh bak gou has beansprout and egg. The carrot cake was quite soft. It was quite spicy too as we did not ask them to tone down the spiciness.
