First up, Eat Paradise's pioneer tenant _ Menya Musashi _ has sprung a stunning surprise; unlike the temporary kiosk that this Tokyo-based ramen purveyor opened recently in KLCC, the full-blown outlet here at 1 Utama is a pork powerhouse, enabling Malaysian customers to finally sample Menya Musashi's recipes as they might be meant to taste.

Menya Musashi's signature ramen comes with unprecedentedly enormous slices of cha-shu in an unexpectedly earthy broth blended with fried shallots and garlic. At this point, it's impossible to say which ramen outlet in the Klang Valley is the best. Some will prefer Santouka, others Marutama or Yamagoya, but many will love Menya Musashi too.

Ajitama Chashu Tsukemen, costing north of RM30, comprising thick, pleasurably chewy egg noodles to be dipped in hot soup. Customers can select serving sizes for noodles _ this was supposed to be a small (!!!).

Beside Menya Musashi, its main rival: Gantetsu, a champion Hokkaido ramen juggernaut from Sapporo. Both Menya Musashi and Gantetsu also have branches in Singapore.

So far, Menya Musashi and Gantetsu are open at Eat Paradise, while everything else may launch later in May. Other highlights that'll make their debut here include Puran B, the Japanese offshoot of The BIG Group's Plan B, which provides pork-free Western fare with twists from the Land of the Rising Sun. Stuff like creamy soft-shell crab spaghetti.

Also waiting in the wings: sushi bar Ichiro and BBQ beef specialist Gyu-Kaku. The outlets here seem like full-fledged eateries, unlike the stalls at Isetan's FoodMarket @ KLCC.

Served with tender slices of meat and salted egg, it is a very hearty meal and the portion is quite huge. For me, the noodle is quite springy which is a good thing. But the soup base does not have the rich porky aroma and flavours, so it is too light and I have to finish the salted egg to add in better taste.

The environment was filled with gung-ho staffs shouting "welcome" and "thank you" to the guests. The menu is very simple, and you must read from the right. First, choose the broth. Secondly, choose the ingredients: egg, 1 / 2 / 3 pieces of chashu. Thirdly, choose the broth or tsukemen. Simple and straight forward. The Red ramen was not spicy even though it was red in color, and it was indeed thick broth. Bouncy and thick ramen. Big pieces of tender chashu too!

There was already a long Q for this restaurant when we reached there at 11.30am. When it was our turn, we were seated on high stool, facing the wall, very uncomfortable seating. As I am a garlic lover, I went with the black ramen. The chashu was indeed a big piece and it was very tender. The broth was thick but not so strong garlic taste. The ramen was thick and bouncy. It was quite pricey for a bowl of ramen. Nevertheless, it is worth a try.

The ramen used for Kuro Musashi ramen is similar to the one in Aka Ajitama Chashu Men. The ramen looked like yellow mee that we usually see at hawker stall but the texture provided more resistance. Anyway, I would prefer the Ajitama (egg) to be more wobbly and runny at the center...overall it was okay.

I have a conclusion , that is, all Japanese soup are very salty. *tongue out*.. They love to use salt instead of MSG to bring up the flavor of the soup.. ;) So , drink the soup sparingly...

We had a plate of side dish, Gyoza, cost RM9. Well!
This side dish took a little longer than the bowl of Ramen to arrive. Anyway, I was paying too much attention to my Ramen at that time. When the Gyoza served on our table, it look oily to me too and the presentation of the Gyoza will certainly needed an improvement as it was overturned when served on the plate as shown on the picture no 4 (last picture).

Another surprise, the filling of this Gyoza is made of minced pork meat, veg and spiced up with alcohol. I seldom eat Gyoza but this one really opened my appetite to have more than serving. Taste good with alcohol to make it more easy to eat and smell good too. Yummilicious!

My first visit to Eat-Paradize that made me fallen in love at first sight. Recently, we went again to try others, one of which was Menya. Menya is always packed with diners, firstly due to its tasty food served and it has very limited space. I personally quite like the little restaurant concept as I find it looks so much like one that we always see in the Japanese drama. Despite it was crowded but the service was fast.

Well!
We have ordered their signature and also their best seller meal, Musashi Ramen, cost RM26.00 before tax. The meal has 4-5 slices of Cha Shu with fats (super delicious), half egg, spring onions, bamboo shoots with garlics. We chose Special oil combined of fried shallots and garlic oil. A good ramen must go along with a good broth. When the meal served to us, it looked a bit oily to me. Hence, we scooped a little spoonful of broth and tasted it.

Wow!
To our excitement, the broth made so well, so tasty. The broth was thick, creamy, from pork marrow bones that have been simmered to smithereens. The taste broth that really made me totally forgotten about the oiliness. We had it finished with nothing left in the bowl. The ramen was so springy. I could be more than happy by just having the ramen and the broth.

By the way, when you order this meal, there are 3 types of oil you need to choose, they are Onion flavoured oil, Special oil combined of fried shallots and garlic oil and Home made Musashi Chilli Oil. I have added more garlics into my meal as well that really spiced up the whole bowl of Ramen.

There have a few spices made available on the dining tables, they are chilli flakes, deed fried garlics, garlic powder and pepper.

In terms of the price, it is certainly worth a good tasty bowl of ramen otherwise, it is definitely expensive.

I WILL COME BACK FOR MORE
