Feeling exceptionally lazy to whip up the dinner, we remained behind in the restaurant after purchasing the bi-weekly ingredients. There may be a belief or stereotype that organic meals are not only pricey but bland, but that is not the truth here; the owner intends to break that label by introducing a variety of healthy, cheaper and tasty dishes for the diners. The atmosphere, on the contrary, is homely and welcoming; it is reminiscent of families coming together at the dining table and sharing the juiciest events of the day. Among the many decorative items reminiscent of it are the gas lamps and wooden table and chairs. The loud buzzing of conversations can be heard as soon as you enter the restaurant. Depending on the hour, you may have to wait before you can be brought to a vacant table, and for all of you, meat and egg lovers reading this post, you'll have to consider giving this restaurant a miss because soy and tofu are being used as meat replacements in the making of all dishes.

Raw ingredients: seaweed, tofu, carrot, corn, rice, cabbage, beans, black wood ear mushroom and tempeh (fermented tofu)

The bowl of lei cha (RM 8.90) [as of 9th December 2014, it is RM 9.90 per bowl] that we ordered was delivered in a matter of minutes to our table with the accompanying soup. The various tastes of all ingredients have been combined into one homogenous blend but the flavors aren't overriding each other or fighting for supremacy; it intermingles perfectly. There are two ways of consuming this: it's either you eat the vegetables and end the meal with the soup or mixing the soup and vegetables together. I personally prefer the second option because we can be greedy when it comes to this dish and like to have a bite of everything.

The lei cha soup contains a refreshing taste as the inclusion of basil herb lays the foundation and the strong scent of sesame oil plays its part by lifting the dishes higher, coating the throat with its whiff. You can feel the ideal tang with each sip (or spoonful).

What about the salad sushi (RM 7.90) [as of 9th December 2014, it is RM 8.90 per plate]?

Well, it is the restaurant's remake of the ever-popular Japanese sushi that contains vinegared rice rolled with cucumber slices, imitation crabsticks and a selected type of fish such as unagi or tuna. In this vegetarian twist, carefully chopped and rotated inside a sheet of Chinese rice roll - chee cheong fun - is a variety of raw, sliced vegetables: carrot, turnip and cucumber. The slight addition of vegetarian mayonnaise, which uses silken tofu and copious amount of soy milk instead, enriches the dish by integrating all of the contrasting flavors into a homogenized one. It surprisingly tastes so great that you will never be able to notice the absence of eggs. A spoonful of sweet acar is included, consisting of sliced and fermented carrot and cucumber with an added punch of chili powder and a slight dash of chopped peanuts.

Having lived in Thailand for quite a bit, I have build quite a fondness for dishes with Basil in it. Though some people might think that the Basil fragrance can be really overpowering, I super loved it! This vegetarian fried rice option certainly does not disappoint. The aroma was delectable, and comes overflowing with a mixed variety of healthy organic vegetables, yaay!

If you love Seaweed based soups, then you're totally gonna love this one.. So sweet yet refreshing! Tastes always like the Japanese version really, but slightly more saltish. The Yee Mee itself was just alright; but the mixed variety of veges was really good- carrots, mixed cabbages and lettuce, tofu, and of course loads and loads of seaweed with a dose of sesame seeds and sesame oil on top

Oohh... I super, super loved this! The braised veges were an assortment of colorful yet really super healthy varieties- Bitter Gourd being the main star attraction; alongside bean curd puffs, tofu cubes, an assortment of shredded cabbages, seaweed and shredded carrots. The noodles itself (kind of like the long life noodle variety) goes along perfectly with everything!

Organic Vegetarians' Assam Fish rice is seriously super nice.. No qualms about it. The paste is sweet, sourish, spicy and savory.. all at the same time ;-) Comes with lots of eggplants, cucumbers , cubed pineapples, sliced lady fingers, chopped garden tomatoes and a medley of mixed cabbages and other mixed organic veges on the side. Super, super loved it, definitely!

Woweeee.... Organic Vegetarian is simply generous when it comes to portions! My Wan Tan Mee is definitely one huge plate indeed.. enough to be shared amongst 2 person! ^_^ Being organic vegetarian; there's no meat.. Instead the springy, chewy dried Wan Tan Noodles come with generous amount of shredded cabbages, carrots, cucumbers , tomatoes and lime dressing. yums

This suburban outlet proves that healthy food can be (incredibly) tasty too. Udon in miso soup. A nourishing concoction, brimming with veggies in a thick soup that was remarkably flavourful without any excess salt. Even better was the vegetarian bak kut teh with brown rice. The lack of pork was scarcely noticed; this piping-hot broth of herbal goodness overflowed with every non-meat ingredient essential for a terrific bak kut teh. Hot soy bean milk and mixed vegetable fruit juice.

Mixed veggie pizza. A thin-crust concoction that could have been more crisp. Alas, it tasted like one of those mini-pizzas sold at shopping mall bakeries. Not exactly bland, but not bursting with flavour either. A wider range of veggies might have helped. Lei Cha. A healthy, freshly prepared concoction, but probably an acquired taste, with lots of greens and grains and gruel. Available only on Tuesdays and Thursdays here. La mien in dumpling soup. A guilt-free recipe, with no MSG and few hints

La mien in dumpling soup. A guilt-free recipe, with no MSG and few hints of fat. Even the carbs in this hearty bowl seemed well worth consuming.

Seaweed Rice-RM8.90
The seaweed rice looks great on the outside... but again, I'd say the taste is not for everyone. The fried rice is rather odd, unlike any type of fried rice I've tasted. I don't know what type of ingredients they might have used but it definitely does not suite me. The vegetables are also raw which are still ok, but they could have at least cut it into smaller pieces and not make me look like a fool who was trying to put those elongated been sprouts into my mouth.

Vege Fish Beehoon Soup-RM8.90
Yet again, the fish beehoon soup tastes weird. I think they might have used soya milk in the soup which gives it the weird texture and I somehow taste a whiff of vanilla in the soup. This definitely does not go well with Chinese pickles (咸菜) and beehon. I definitely wouldn't recommend ordering this dish unless if you have to.

Vege Fish Beehoon Soup-RM8.90The soup has a very strong smell of soya. I think they used soya to cook the soup rather than milk. It taste not bad just the smell of soya was too strong for me. Overall still not bad.Seaweed Rice-RM8.90The rice came with some pieces of fried seaweed together with acha and raw vegetable. The taste a bit weird as the rice is cooked in sweet taste rather than salty. The fried seaweed was hard rather than crunchy. Overall still can accept.
