tea or coffee? Smile Mar 01, 2016

In combination of lemon with earl grey tea, the delicate citrus taste brings out the fragrance and refreshing aroma of the earl grey tea, making it a perfect real grown-up sweet treat.

There is something so dreamy about the whole idea, so calm and comforting.

Thirdwave has an in-house baker who bakes a variety of cakes everyday, with different cakes on display. Some cakes are only available during the weekends. So I would recommend to call in to check on their availability of the cakes.

I had this yummy treat in the afternoon, right before lunch, so I wasnt up for anything too light to go with the cake. Coffee is the only way to go, it was smooth and creamy, with a nutty finishing at the end.

of tarts and coffee! Smile Feb 28, 2016

The salted caramel chocolate tart was absolutely amazing!
The gooey salted caramel sauce blended in with the chocolate paste and it sits nicely in the chocolate tart.

The fillings were generously rich and it goes well with the crust. I fell in love with it at first bite and I had absolutely no qualms except the fact that I felt it could be better with a tad bit of sea salt.
The combination of this lovely tart along with a glass of italian iced coffee is beyond amazing.
The Italian Iced Coffee was refreshing and thirst-quenching to the heat.

Mee Hoon Kueh! OK Feb 28, 2016
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

On a sunny Sunday, we decided to have Chilly Pan Mee for breakfast before we headed to the malls. The weather was extremely hot, so I had decided to skip the mandatory chilli pan mee in fear of the unbearable heat and opted for the mee hoon kueh which directly means hand-pulled noodles in Hokkien dialect.

The clear soup base was lacking in flavors and fragrance, as compared to other versions of pan mee soup base I have had in the past.
In terms of the texture, the noodles were cooked to al-dente perfection. Aside from the usual fried anchovies, chinese Spinach, minced meat and fried shallots, that bowl of noodles was topped off with a poached egg to boost up the breakfast fare. The portion was just nice for an average eater like me.

japanese rice and udon(s) Smile Feb 26, 2016

I had the basic Tonkatsu set meal which comprises of a plateful of pork curry rice, salad and green tea to go together with it. The combination of the fried pork cutlets together with the creamy flavorful curry was a mouthful. The pork cutlets were fried to an extent that the skin were also super crispy! It's like heaven in a plate. Don't miss this if you are here.

I also had the stir-fried pork udon. I enjoyed the clear soup base and noodles were of a perfect texture for my liking. It was neither thick nor too chewy because I didn't find it tiresome to bite on, after finising up the whole bowl.

No Japanese meal is complete without green tea and theirs are refillable. Their rice and udon dishes are reasonably priced and it's an even better deal if you opt for set meals.

fluffed with LOVE! Smile Feb 26, 2016

Categories : Malaysian variety | Café | Desserts

I dont usually get the opportunity to dine around paramount garden area and the fact that I am around for dinner nearby, warrants a visit at Fluffed Cafe.

After a good ponder at the menu and fridge display of various cakes and tarts, I made my decision in a jiffy to have their Snoopy and Peanut waffles, Lemon Lavender Chiffon Cake and the Tiramisu cake.

Snoopy and Peanut waffle is basically a charcoal waffle with peanut butter ice cream, crushed peanuts, peanut butter drizzle and lastly sliced bananas.

The texture of the waffles were really crispy which I find that it's a bonus in winning my heart! The combination of all the ingredients paired really well together.

Both the cakes were equally good, and if you put them together, I can only compare their level of sweetness, everything else was perfect. The Lemon Lavender Chiffon Cake was a tad bit more sweeter than the Tiramisu cake. The chiffon cake exuded an appealing light, airy and fluffy texture, while the tiramisu had a distinct taste of espresso without being too sweet, as it was balanced out well.
