On a sunny Sunday, we decided to have Chilly Pan Mee for breakfast before we headed to the malls. The weather was extremely hot, so I had decided to skip the mandatory chilli pan mee in fear of the unbearable heat and opted for the mee hoon kueh which directly means hand-pulled noodles in Hokkien dialect. The clear soup base was lacking in flavors and fragrance, as compared to other versions of pan mee soup base I have had in the past. In terms of the texture, the noodles were cooked to al-dente perfection. Chili pan mee care to come in dry or soup. There is ways to eat pan mee in this soup, and the amount of spicy level depends on how you take it. Once the noodle arrive - especially for dry noodle, you could put a desirable amount of chili on the noodle and then mix well with the portion. And Wholla! Ready to eat. The home made chili is very spicy, and a little too much of chili seed which makes your tongue hot after that. ;) continue reading

What's the fuss about this place- this leads me to finally stepping into this shop to try the infamous chilli pan mee. It came with thin pan mee noodles, minced pork meat, anchovies, poached egg and separate bowl of soup with potato leaves inside.I added about 2 spoonfull of chilli flakes into my bowl then mix all ingredients together. I find the chilli was really spicy enough, but lacked the aroma from the dried prawns- which can be found in Jojo and Haha Siu Pan Mee. I like the bowl of soup which can cool one's tongue from the spicy sensation.Still, I don't find the chilli pan mee here suits my tastebud continue reading
