Grilled Butter Chicken  OK Nov 24, 2013
Categories : Malaysian variety | Restaurant | Halal

I usually do not eat halal chicken rice but have to do so when eating with a Malay friend. The last time I remembered eating there was at the branch at Giant Kelana Jaya with my colleagues. So tonight I had a fast dinner, for just 15 minutes to gobble everything at the branch in Paradigm Mall.

I would not comment on the normal chicken because obviously we know that there are better ones elsewhere. It did not look tasty and tender either.

Anyway, the new Grilled Butter Chicken is quite tender and tasty and not oily at all, though a bit creamy from the butter.

The Grilled Butter Chicken 1 pax set was quite worth it as it came with chicken rice, siew pak choy, 2 pie tee and a drink for RM 16.99.

The Siew Pak Choy was also just nice, not too hard or soft served with just the right amount of oyster sauce.

The 2 Pie Tee was quite tasty too.

Chawan near Bangsar Village OK Sep 08, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Malaysian variety | Restaurant | Noodles | Nasi Lemak

Went there for breakfast with my friend. It was my first visit there.

Finding a parking here is so difficult. After turning around the place about 3-4 times, I finally found a place opposite the mosque at a lower price of rm 1.10 per hour on a weekend.

The Kemamam coffee is quite alright and the most comforting part is that it was not overly sweet like most Malaysian kopitiam ones. The Muar coffee was not much different from the Kemamam one except more dilute.

The nasi lemak with rendang chicken is just ok. The kangkung is a nice compliment and unique. The sambal was too sweet and I found the one at Seaview coffee shop to be better, richer and cheaper at only rm5 while this costs rm14.

My friend said the prawn mee was horrible but I could judge it since I did not taste it.

Steam room OK Sep 07, 2013
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles | Dim sum

I have wanted to go to Steamroom for so long and in the end I went today.

The black fungus appetizer was tasty though a tad salty but unique.

Though I had a sore throat, I tried the irresistible fried eggplants with chicken floss nevertheless and it was worth it at rm 8.80 if I was not mistaken.

The steamed egg with century egg and salty egg yolk was just ok. Since I'm not really a fan of salty egg yolk it would not be fair for me to comment but my friend said it was not salty enough.

Worth drinking is the chrysanthemum with ginseng root drink for rm10

One thing to avoid is the nice named sharks fin seafood dumpling which was such a small portion but not worth the Rm 18.80 price since not only did it lack crunch but the skin was loose and dissolved by pieces.

Yeast Atelier  Smile Aug 07, 2016
Categories : French | Café | Sweets/Snack

When I first saw many blogs detailing the great French food at Yeast, I have kept a wish to try the food here one fine day. But it seems the price is quite expensive here till I decided to walk in today to check out the price, when my friend wanted to treat me for my belated birthday lunch. I was bored of Mid Valley that he wanted to go originally.

Cappucino-Hazelnut (RM 14)

They actually sell the best cappuccino I have ever tasted in my life. It is very dark full of chocolate taste.

Duck Confit (RM 36)

This duck confit is much better than the one at Alexis. It is so much more tender and the skin is also soft. The salad has light dressing too and not as thick as mayonaise or thousand island. There are a few pieces of roasted potatoes to eat together. There are also some deep fried onions, fried till crispy and fragrant.

Cocotte (RM 20)

The Filipina waitress recommended Cocotte to us. The boiled egg inside is so fluffy and soft. The egg tastes so well with the french bread albeit too hard to be bitten. The egg here is better than some others.

Chocolate Lava Molten Cake (RM 27)

This seems to be the only dessert in the menu that comes with pistachio ice-cream so I ordered it though I felt that molten chocolate lava cake is quite normal nowadays and not that great. Yeast has a lot of other pastries that are freshly made too. Nevertheless, the pistachio ice-cream was did much consolation for the normal cake as normally people only serve this cake with vanilla ice-cream.

Fancy hearing me say that what I like most about Yeast is the French music inside the washroom! The washroom also looks classical french!

The food is cooked fresh here. The small cafe is teeming with patrons all the time whether it is dinner or breakfast time as they have food for all timings.

The only disadvantage is that you pay for a high price but sit at hot humid cafe as the air-condition is not powerful enough also due to the open door concept.

Potion Factory  Smile Aug 07, 2016
Categories : Stall / Warung | Juices / Bubble Tea / Tea / Yogurt

After finishing our high tea at Daan Daan, we went to Potion Factory which is right beside.

The decoration is quite special with potion bottles.

All the juices here are 100% cold pressed, 200% natural, with no sugar, preservatives and additives added.

All the juices here are made using the cold press method whereby coldpress is a revolutionary method of extracting nutrients and liquid out of raw fruits and vegetables. Unlike other extraction methods, cold press doesn't generate heat, which means extraction preserves most of the taste and essential nutrients. Every bottle of potion is concentrated with maximum amount of essential nutrients and bursting with living enzymes to provide instant health hit to the bloodstream.

The potions available are:

1. Bless - Detoxifier - with spinach, apple, wheatgrass, lemon

2. Orange - Boost Immune System - with 100% Valencia oranges

3. Energy-Energy Booster - with banana, pineapple, pear, chia seed.

4. Immunity Potion-orange, apple, carrot, lemon

5. Ice Potion-Guava, apple, lime, chia seeds.

- This is one of the best drink as the mix of sweetness and sourness was amazing.

6.Health Potion-Detoxifier - Beetroot, apple, lemon, ginger

-I also like this as beetroot has a lot of vitamins and nutrients. Ginger taste is quite strong so those who dislike ginger would not be able to stand this.
