Yummy Dim Sum Smile Jan 09, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood | Noodles | Dim sum | Private Party

As a dim sum lover, i always look for the restaurants that serve good dim sum. I think Reunion is one of them. I don't usually fancy the Chinese restaurants' appetizers, because normally they are either peanuts or pickles, nothing too impressive. However, Reunion totally changed me. Their appetizer nearly becomes one of the reason I go to the restaurant, haha! The sauce over the cucumber is so refreshing, with the crispy dried cuttle fish on top, it's simply gorgeous in taste!

Their dim sum are of great quality too. The prawn dumpling is big, and the prawn is huge. I like their flavourful skin too.

The prawn rice roll is ordinary, nothing too great, but not bad as a whole with fresh prawns.

The Vietnamese rice roll is quite a surprise. It's deep-fried, and inside the roll, you could taste crunchy prawn meat, century eggs, as well as preserved ginger! What a combination, but amazingly go well with each other.

Great place for gals' date Smile Jan 09, 2012

This colourful cafe is a great place to hang out with your gal friends on a casual weekend. I love it's clean cut interior deco.

We started our high tea with Detox Helper and Paw Paw Passion. Detox helper (green) is a blend of celery, apple, pineapples, lemon and ginger that help in detoxifying your body. It tastes healthy! Paw Paw Passion consists of papaya, lime, honey and yogurt, tastes fruity sweet, nice!

We ordered two kind of cakes, Bread & Butter Pudding and Blue Berries Yogurt Cake. Bread $ Butter Pudding is different from what I've tried from elsewhere, this one is not mushy, the buttery layers between the bread are very smooth. The flavour and texture are hugely enhanced if you pour the custard cream over the pudding. Awesome combination!

Eaten together with the berries yogurt, I find this Blue Berries Yogurt Cake a little too sour. However, it's quite appetizing I'd say.

Located in JW Marriot hotel, this restaurant serves great quality dim sum. One must try their signature steamed bun (xiao long bao). The stuffing is so well-marinated, and the 'soup' inside the bun is so rich in saucy flavour, yummy!

Their prawn dumpling is another surprise too. The prawns are fresh and big, and the outer layer is quite chewy, giving a good texture to the dumpling.

Another yummy dishes is the Crispy duck rice roll. Inside the thin rice roll are a layer of crispy stuffing, and lots of duck meat! One should eat the rice roll with the given sambal, the combination is great.

If you have a heavy pellet, then you would love the dan dan noodles here as I do! The soup base is so nutty and rich in flavours! It's so delicious! You have to try it to believe it.

Simple but nice Smile Jan 07, 2012

I have been to Delicious a couple of time, and I'm always happy with their food. Very delicious indeed.

This time round, we ordered Spicy crab linguine and Carbonara Spaghettini for mains. Spicy crab linguine is very light with a dash of chilli hotness, not too much, and it sort of spice up your appetite. I love the pine nuts too, adding the crunch to the well-cooked pasta, good choice!

Carbonara Spaghettini is sinfully creamy, yet very comforting! With generous amount of cheese and beef bacon, it's simply flavourful.

As for dessert, the Orange cake might be a little dry, but eat together with vanilla ice-cream, it actually tasted not bad.

I like the Peach tart. So much peach slices and almond flakes. Yum..

Great place for coffee addicts Smile Jan 07, 2012

Categories : Western variety | Café

This tiny little cafe has its own unique interior deco, very cosy. The owner and the staffs are very friendly too. I ordered Brazil Santos. The staff brought over the coffee beans for me to taste, explain patiently how the taste would be, and some facts about the beans.

She then grinded the coffee beans, and again let me smell the aroma. I have learnt so much more about my cup of coffee, and with that, I reckon it tastes better smile

My mate ordered Iced Drip Gula Melaka Coffee. Hmm.. I'm not a fans of it, the combination is just a bit funny to me. Too sweet perhaps.

The thousand layers cheesecake is a must try. The texture is so fluffy, and the cheese is so smooth. Love it!
