Besides the dim sum, the roasted siu yuk and honey char siew is famous here too. Each of the siu yuk is chopped evenly about half inch thick. Each piece is just nice to enter the mouth. Although it comes with 3 layers pork, i don't feel any fats at all because the lard is chewy. The meat is so tender soft and i love the crispy pork skin too. The caramelised char siew is very sweet. I will prefer the siu yuk as the lean meat char siew is abit hard. continue reading

Another heavy palate dish is the braised egg plant with minced meat and salted fish. This dish can be quite oily due to the natural oiliness from the egg plant. However, if you can get pass the oiliness, this is another delicious dish to have. The braised egg plant was soft and the salted fish gaves extra flavors to the dish. The minced meat was also very flavorful. continue reading

Reunion bears little resemblance to the typical KL Chinese restaurant, but even traditionalists should be won over by its beauty. There's a palpable sense of mystique and mystery here. The hall for large groups is less intimate but still looks terrific. Roast meat combo of duck, char siew and siew yoke. The duck was especially spectacular, offering all the taste and texture that we love in this fowl. Prawns in butter and milk with sweet corn. Eat while it's piping hot! Steamed tofu. Luxuriously soft with mushroom slices encased within. Spinach in superior stock. The "healthy" segment of our meal. Hokkien Mee. A huge portion for only two of us, but amazingly, we finished nearly all of it. Packed with crispy pork lard, liver and prawns, it blended really well with the sambal. Wolf Blass White Label Cabernet Merlot. continue reading

As a dim sum lover, i always look for the restaurants that serve good dim sum. I think Reunion is one of them. I don't usually fancy the Chinese restaurants' appetizers, because normally they are either peanuts or pickles, nothing too impressive. However, Reunion totally changed me. Their appetizer nearly becomes one of the reason I go to the restaurant, haha! The sauce over the cucumber is so refreshing, with the crispy dried cuttle fish on top, it's simply gorgeous in taste! Their dim sum are of great quality too. The prawn dumpling is big, and the prawn is huge. I like their flavourful skin too. The prawn rice roll is ordinary, nothing too great, but not bad as a whole with fresh prawns. The Vietnamese rice roll is quite a surprise. It's deep-fried, and inside the roll, you could taste crunchy prawn meat, century eggs, as well as preserved ginger! What a combination, but amazingly go well with each other. continue reading
