Simple lunch Smile Aug 14, 2012

I went to Marmalade cafe the other day with mate to have a quick simple lunch. I always love their interior deco, very bright yet cozy. I had the Lebanese wrap with turkey ham and spinach filling. The generous amount of spinach sort of giving extra juiciness to the wrap, feels healthy too.

Aglio olio prawn spaghetti has a very strong garlic flavour, not too oily, simple and nice.

For dessert, I ordered the Carrot cake from the counter. The texture of the cake is slight more solid than usual, but with heaps of nuts and seeds, quite nice to chew on.

Durian dessert Smile Aug 07, 2012

It was my first visit to this dessert place, and I quite like its interior deco, quite unique. Not knowing what is good in the shop, I ordered my favourite durian dessert - the durian pancake! It took quite a while for the dessert to be served due to the crowd on weekend.

The outer layer of the pancake is not overly thick, which is a good sign. When I cut it open, there are actually two layers inside, the thick rich durian mousse layer, topped with fresh cream. The flavour is strong and rich, and it's sinfully good! Yummy~

Love it! Smile Aug 07, 2012

I love the fact that you can choose your sugar content at Gong Cha, that provides an option for customers to get the drink that suits their pellet better, and of course, good news for health-concious bunch! It was a rainy day and I ordered myself a milk green tea. The fragrant of the tea is so nice, and very smooth too.

My mate ordered the exact milk green tea but a cold one. Nice flavour be it cold or hot. Good choice!

Healthy dinner Smile Aug 07, 2012

It was our second visit to Tang Shifu, and we really like the dishes there. This time round we had the Broccoli with Sliced Abalone and Scallop, something simple, but taste good. The dish can provide skin purification and regulates gastrointestinal.

We then had the Stewed Pork with Dang Gui, a kind of Chinese herbs which I love. This dish helps in regulating our heart rate and nourishes intestinal. However, I find the meat a bit too dry, and the sauce is a bit too watery.

As a restaurant that promotes healthy meal, Tang Shifu offers wholegrain rice instead of white rice, which is better for health.

Healthy choice Smile Aug 07, 2012

Tang Shifu is a nice place for family dinner, it sort of providing a healthier choice of dishes, and the benefits of consuming the dishes are stated on the menu itself. Very fun to read on. We ordered the Steamed Aubergine with X.O. Scallop Sauce, a very flavourful dish. The eggplants are sauteed till soft and fully absorbed the aromatic X.O. scallop sauce. I found myself non-stop eating this, very tasty to go with plain rice. It can prevent illness and regulate blood pressure too. How great.

We also ordered one of their signature soup. with lots of ingredients including dried scallops, white fungus etc. The broth is so sweet, delicious!
