Hubby and I went for lunch at this Fun Taipei cafe not long ago. The place looks nice, with lots of magazines and books for the customers to read during the wait for their food. We ordered the minced pork noodles set, which consists of a bowl of noodles topped with minced pork, braised tofu in the gravy, stir-fry french beans, braised hard boiled egg, and a bowl of soup.The tofu tastes pretty good but everything else are so-so. Same as the minced pork rice, pretty ordinary. Perhaps the minced pork itself is not too flavourful, the gravy could be thicker. We also ordered the Fried oysters, and the Noodles threads with Oysters. The fried oyster is a huge disappointment. They are deep-fried yet not crispy at all. I can only taste the oil, but not the aroma of the batter nor oysters. The noodles threads with oyster is eatable, but not up to the bar as yet I would say.

It was a hot day that we decided to cool ourselves down at the ld town Cafe. The service is slow that day as it's very crowded. We had the Kaya & butter toast (double) (RM3.40), the butter is still freezing cold and hard. Not pleasant.Lime yogurt smoothie (RM7.50) is very refreshing! However, it actually tastes quite sour, so if you can't stand sourness, don't order this drink!Oldtown red bean freezy (RM8.50) is a star! Very rich in red bean flavour and the cream on top adds on extra bit of smoothness to the drink! Awesome.Organic spirulina orange juice (RM5.90) is alright, I find it quite plain though. Healthy is the key here I guess.

This restaurant is conveniently located in the Bangsar shopping district. Not hungry but craving for a munch, I only ordered the Oriental steamed clams (RM20). When the dish is served, the aroma of the Chinese wine is so strong and tempting. The clams are very fresh, and nicely cleaned without any sands. The taste is fantastic too with quite a bit of gingers and basil herbs.

This is a gorgeous restaurant. The interior deco is so Italian, even the paintings on the lift doors are attractive. With expectation, we ordered quite a lot of food. I like the variety of bread served before the meal. The cheesy & herb bread sticks are nice to snack on. The Seafood tomato and saffron soup that served with garlic toast is quite ordinary. Very rich in tomato flavour, but a bit too sour I reckon. The Chef's antipasti sampler is quite spectacular. There are total of 5 tiny dishes on the plate. Out of all, the fruit salad with rocket and balsamic vinegar is by far my favourite. Very refreshing. Tomato sandwich with cheese is quite nice too.However, seafood cooked in tomato sauce and the meat slices stir-fried in dried chilli sauce are so so only. The Tagliolini cooked with white asparagus, orange and thyme ragout is different from what I usually have, something new to me but I am just not used to the bitter taste of the white asparagus. The Saffron risotto served with crispy seafood and red capsicum is awesome! The cheesy taste of the risotto is so well-balanced, the red capsicum tastes refreshing too. As for dessert, the Hazelnut creme brulee is a great choice! The hazelnut is aromatic, plus the caramelized topping, thumbs up! The Vanilla floating island is too sweet for us to accept! It's actually egg white meringue served with custard sauce sort of. Sickly sweet. Luckily the Dark chocolate tiramisu is yummy, giving us a good ending of a mix standard meal.

I was craving for some savory sancks the other day when I walked in to the Little Taiwan eatery. Not wanting something huge or oily, I ordered the Taiwanese Special Toast. The center of the thick toast is being empty and used as a bowl kind of. The filling consists of some chicken chunks, peas, corn kennels and mushroom that cooked in starchy gravy. The flavour is quite Ok, but it's a bit too starchy for me that I don't really enjoy eating it towards to end.
