Hidden in a corner of this shop is a stall selling one of my childhood favourite fried pastries. The uncle selling the fried pastry has been doing so for more than 10 years and he used to sell near imbi market before moving his stall to here. The fried nian kao is one the best I've ever tried. The layer of nian kao is stuffed in between a layer of sweet potato and yam before given the deep fried treatment. The skin of the nian kao is golden brown and gives out a wonderful aroma while the nian kao melts away when you bite into it.
