Glazed doughnut Smile Oct 24, 2012

The picture above is my breakfast and for those who thinks that's is definitely not enough for a breakfast, you should try it once. It is very filling and that implies on the doughnut alone. I think the secret to it is the dough. When I bite into it, I could feel the resistance of the dough unlike some other doughnuts I've tried. The layer of sugar glazing on it is thick as well and sometimes I don't need to put any sugar in my coffee if I dip my doughnut in the coffee.

bacon cheeseburger OK Oct 24, 2012

Burgers are Americans staple diet and coming back from the states I would not deny that they do produce one of the best burgers I have ever tasted and the size alone can trump over those burgers found in Malaysia. When I purchased from Carl's Jr I was hoping they do serve burgers like those I tasted back in the states. The size was big if compared with local burgers but I feel that it lacked the 'oomph' factor if compared to roadside burger stalls or vans. I had the western bacon cheeseburger and the patty was so thin it made me asked myself if I was only paying for the burger with BBQ sauce. The tagline from Wendy's; "Where is the beef?" flashed across my mind when I bite into the burger. The saving grace would be potato wedges. It was crunchy on the outside while fluffy on the inside.

chili burger Smile Oct 24, 2012

Carls Jr still serves one of the biggest burgers you can find in a fast food joint. The picture above is the chili burger. To the uninitiated, chili is a type of thick soup Americans eat and it is filled with grounded beef, lots of spices and sometimes beans and tomatoes depending on the recipe. The chili burger served here is loaded with chili but they did a bad job in containing the chili as it spills out from the side making it a messy way of eating the burger. The chili was not as spicy as I anticipated but the ground beef was a nice addition to the burger patty.

siew yoke Smile Oct 24, 2012

This pub is well known watering hole for office workers after working hours. After a tiring day, the next best thing besides a hot shower is pub grub and good beer which is served here. Finger food and beer goes well together and my group got ourselves a plate of siew yoke to go along with our Starker. The siew yoke had a crunchy top which was rater salty. The siew yoke had more fat than we imagined thou we managed to finish the whole plate.

unagi salmon roll Smile Oct 24, 2012

I normally do not fancy expensive japanese food and the only time I patronized this restaurant was when I was invited by a friend to dine here. This is the grilled unagi on top of a slice salmon and maki roll. This was my first time seeing such a unique combination as normal maki is usually topped with salmon or unagi. The unagi has bits of fat in it which melts in your mouth and the skin is still warm and crunchy. This dish is called the shake aburi maki if I am not mistaken.
