Here in Sambal Hijau, you are required to make the payment at the counter, where array of desserts are placed. Fear not, all of the desserts are freshly made and HOT (maybe warm for some). I was looking around for the dessert I would like to have and I stumbled upon this onde-onde. it came in 5-6pieces in a plastic ware, and coated generously with coconut flakes Most importantly, when I bite into it, it just leaked and I rushed to save the flowing fillings. Most importantly, when I bite into it, it just leaked and I rushed to save the flowing fillings. The fillings was the loveliest thing ever; I could taste the crumbles of gula malacca apart from the warm oozing fillings. However the skin was too thick to my liking.

Greedy boyfriend saw this Teh Botol and grabbed one to try. It was not as sweet and tasted more tea-ish but seriously, it was not something that you would rave about.

Bergedil is more like mash potatoes wrapped in a crispy layer skin. Bergedil here was something you should try. Apart from the big size, I love the fact that the skin was almost paper thin and crispy. Fried to golden, it was very inviting to feast on it. I took a bite off the bergedil and surprised to find some shredded chicken in it. I must say it enhanced the texture by providing the necessary contrast and I found it lovely. The fried tempe was not too bad too! Despite the sourish flavor from tempe, it was quite appetizing. The crunchiness of soy bean was good and indeed, it was meant to be fried. The ayam rempah, in contrary, was tough, cold and almost like kayu. It could be more flavorful and less dry.

Tempe is a traditional soy product originated from Indonesia. In contrary to the texture of tau fu, it is dense. It has slight sourish flavor which I found it interesting but for fear that I couldn't get used to tempe alone, I decided to get tempe with ikan bilis. I love this combination as ikan bilis was savory in contrary to tempe, which gave it a good balance. The fried tempe with ikan bilis was slightly soggy, which could be intentional and I found it decent that way. Tempe aside, the vegeta

This place has a pretty good spread of Malay food and very crowded during lunch time. The place has no airconditioner, therefore can be quite hot in the afternoons. It is self service, so you take your own rice, then take the meat, vegetables and choose your spread of sambal balacan, wash your hands, find a seat, fold your sleeves and dig in. I took rice with 1 large piece of beef rendang and vegetables that costs about RM7. I was facinated by the array of belacan, cincalok, sambal tempoyak (wi

I took rice with 1 large piece of beef rendang and vegetables that costs about RM7. I was facinated by the array of belacan, cincalok, sambal tempoyak (with durian) that they have, unlike any other malay nasi campur I've seen. Overall, a pretty good experience, better than most Malay nasi campur stalls and most of the dish has a strong taste to it. Be ready to get blown away by a mixture taste in your mouth.
