I just love the Spaghetti Bolognese which has a al dente texture. It has a spicy twist to this classic Italian dish. There’s generous amount of freshly grated parmesan cheese mix with finely chop tomatoes mix with basil leaves. The spices and seasonings have a unique fragrance and the gravy have a strong flavor of sourness, sweetness and spiciness. The First Class pizza Ultimate Hawaiian is another great dish. There’s double in volume of every ingredient. It has loads of delicious roasted chicken, juicy pineapple, and fresh mushroom. The crust has a distinct yeasty aroma. The crust is bake until golden brown and cheese caramelize on top of the thick chunky chicken is definitely an experience never to forget.

Forest Gump Favourite Smile Jan 30, 2012

It was over lunch in Sunway lagoon, my first experience in Bubba Gump Shrimp Restaurant. I’ve ordered the ‘Bourbon Street Catch of the Day’, which was tilapia fish, and some barbeque shrimps covered in Cajun sauce served with mash potato and some crispy potato strips on top. This dish is absolutely fabulous. The fish was done just nice, dipped with the Cajun sauce gives it a little spice to it and very appetizing. The mash potato is smooth and filling. And the crispy potato strips, the more the merrier. It was like eating chips, you wouldn’t stop after 1 bite. My friends who ordered the Salmon & Veggie Skillet wasn’t very please because the taste was rather plain serve over white rice. Another friend ordered the Spaghetti / Pasta, but it wasn’t good because lack of ingredients. We ordered a plate of their main signature dish, the Shrimper Net Catch, it was served on a plate of newspaper with lemon and some sauce to dip with it. I thought the shrimps were soaked with chili oil, I was hoping for more sauce to add flavor to it. The aroma was great but I didn’t get the specialty of this dish.
For drinks, I recommend having the BlueBerry smoothie. You can choose whether you want Strawberry or BlueBerry for your drinks. The smoothie is served blend with frozen yogurt. This drink is refreshing and cools down the stomach after having some hot food. It is rather filling with natural good yogurt in it. If you are not good with alcoholic beverages, don’t go for the cocktails with include margarita which looks absolutely beautiful but may not suite your taste and yet extremely pricey. I remember friend saying the Tropical Breeze tasted like coconut water. The Sunburst peach taste better than the Tropical Breeze, but still not as yummy as my Blueberry yogurt smoothie.

Secret Recipe Delights Smile Jan 30, 2012

My favourite cheese cakes from Secret Recipe has a glossy milky appearance known as the New York Cheese cake. It’s round with no fancy decorative but one bite is enough to get you hook to it. It’s soft, creamy but stiff enough to give you a perfect texture.
Among their good chocolate cakes are the Chocolate Strawberry, Chocolate Banana which all has rich chocolaty taste in the outside, and fresh fruits layered in the inside. It is important that the fruits are sweet and tasty. I had no complains when it comes to these 2 cakes. But I once experienced some problem with their Mango Delight, nothing wrong with the texture of the cake, but seriously, the fresh mango in it was tasteless, totally flat. To get soak into loads of chocolate, go for the Mud cake, made of semi-sweet chocolate, and creamy chocolate fudge.
For brownies, the nice ones are the walnut brownie which is soft, temptingly topped with melted chocolate and walnuts which is absolutely delicious. The top dries to a slightly paler brown speckle, while the middle remains dark, dense and gooey. Another brownie which is one of my favorite is the Apple cheese slice. It’s a light cheese with thick apple sauce, where you can feel the slices of cooked sweet apples in it.
For savory food, the best is the Tom Yam noodles. The western food particularly the chicken chop here is not very good. A rather small piece of chicken with a not very matching sauce. If there is one area secret recipe could improve, is on their savory food.

Carl's Jr  Smile Jan 30, 2012

Over lunch, we tried some really sinful food at Carl’s Jr. I ordered the Chili Cheese Fries which are French fries in chili beef with jalapeno and spices (although I didn’t think it reached the Malaysian version of spiciness), topped with melted jack and cheddar cheese. This is the one dish with high calories, but because it tasted good, I didn’t feel guilty after consumption. The French fries were thick and solid. It goes well with the sauce provided, the BBQ and mustard sauce. The chili beef gives the fries all the strong savory taste that makes it really delicious. There are generous portion of cheese on top. It costs about RM8-9 per Chili Cheese Fries. Just this side dish alone is very filling to the stomach.
I’ve also tried the fish burger here, but wouldn’t recommend it because the taste was rather flat. It is better to go for the Beef or Chicken or Turkey burger which tasted a lot better. Don’t order too much at one go because the portion here is huge. The burger is also bigger than other fast food outlets. This is not a place to eat everyday, but you can visit here once a while to indulge yourself in fast food goodness.

Kari Kepala Ikan Smile Jan 30, 2012

The original restaurant in Sri Gombak has 2 levels. It is opposite the McDonalds in Sri Gombak. There a few sitting downstairs for small groups and for a bigger group, upstairs or their private room will be a better choice.
There are quite a large variety of food, but most of the time we will have the Nasi Kandar. Go to the front counter and order the variety of dishes. There are fried sotong, the pandan chicken, curry squid, mutton rendang, otak-otak, chilli tauhu, asam fish, salad prawns, mango kerabu, pucuk paku and a lot more. For the curry fish head you have place order first, they will bring to you later.
Take a seat and the rice and dishes will come to you. The food here is flavorful and has strong taste. You must have certain level of tolerance for spicy food else you may not enjoy your meal. The Curry Fish Head although it’s the famous dish for this shop, but I didn’t think it was worth it because it’s quite pricey starting at RM35 onwards. Although it tasted good, as you know there isn’t much fish meat you can dig from a fish head, however may get some vegetables from the dish. I would recommend you to forgo the Fish head curry and order all the other food to fill your stomach.
The pandan chicken is really good here with the fragrant of the pandan leaves wrap around the chicken, many will like this therefore 1 serving may not be enough. Secondly, try the otak-otak, which is a spicy fish paste wrap with banana leave before it is cooked. The texture is smooth and savory. For those who likes mutton, the mutton curry is a good choice with thick curry sauce and the chilli tauhu is also nice, few pieces of fried tauhu that makes it a little crispy with a some dash of sweet thai chilli sauce on the top. After the hearty meal, go for the mango kerabu, which is has a slices of raw mango with some bunga kantan and coconut. This dish is abit sour so it makes a good appetizer.
