It is a classy restaurant that offers different types of delicious dishes. Sagano Japanese Restaurant is located at Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel. The environment there is a bit classy and very comfortable for dine in. I had tried Pan Seared Foie Grass Teriyaki served by Sagano Japanese Restaurant. It is very special and delicious. The taste is good but the portion is a bit small for me. continue reading

For beef lover, you would sure to fall in love with the Wagyu striploin teppanyaki with Japanese potato salad (和牛サーロインポテトサラダ添え). The wagyu are being cooked with the teppanyaki style and being served with thin sliced of red radish and Japanese Potato Salad. The double Grade A Wagyu in very delicious and it’s meat is tender and juicy which makes everyone in the table love to grab for another plate of it. continue reading

Sagano's MIGF menu has both hits and misses, but it's still a fair bargain for RM119++ without wine. Service is impeccable and the environment is soothingly serene. Starters of foie gras sushi with sweet black pepper sauce (the foie gras was overly seared), sea urchin egg tofu (a slippery treat that slides down easy), oyster with Japanese citrus and chili paste (pleasant but forgettable). Thin-sliced Atlantic salmon with mango and wasabi sauce. Kinda ordinary. Paper-wrapped sea bream with two types of seafood sauce. The fish tasted overdone and not quite fresh enough, but the sauces were lip-smackingly good. Grilled marinated Wagyu beef with veggies. Our clear favourite. The beef was beautifully tender and breathtakingly flavourful. What was in that marinade?! Deep-fried oysters wrapped with perilla leaves. The perilla leaves added a fascinatingly minty flavour to the lightly battered oysters. continue reading

Celebrating the hotel's 16th anniversary, all the restaurants in the hotels are introducing special menu that brings excitements to us. What not to be missed in Sagano is their ala carte menu, featuring all signature dishes that have been really popular among diners. Warmly lit with a touch of modern setting, I feel homey under this great atmosphere. Deep-Fried Chicken with Honey VinegarI am very taken with the thin, crisp chicken (yay, it's boneless!) soaked in sweet, sourish sauce. The fresh-tasting chicken meat remains moist and I find the sauce rather intriguing.Grilled Oysters Topped with Japanese MayonnaiseA huge oyster is usually strongly flavoured, and I find this oyster here still acceptable in size. For this, I especially like the sauce which is light and mildly sweet. However, a zest of lemon juice would definitely have livened it up. Fish Flake Clear Soup with Fried TofuFor me, I love the fried tofu, as it goes perfectly with the salty fish flake, and smooth clear soup which add contrast to the overall texture. Light enough and not too salty. continue reading
