I don’t mind having kerabu chicken feet when the bones have already been removed, but I am not a big fan when it comes to chewing and spitting out tiny feet bones of chicken. I was urged to try one, and feeling adventurous, I did. Surprisingly, the chicken feet were very tender. The edible tissue consisting of skin and tendons were very tasty and not overly chewy. Gelatinous in texture, the chicken feet was extremely flavourful as they have been marinated for at least a day before being stewed,

I would probably not eat this again, but I highly recommend this dish to people to truly enjoy chicken feet.

The stewed fatty pork in Ah Seng Bak Kut Teh is simply superb, not to be missed. The pieces of mixed lean and very fatty pork are cooked in soya sauce, dark sweet sauce and some herbs. This produces a melt-in-your-mouth, yummy, juicy but definitely sinful morsels that goes very well with rice. It was so good that I pretty much polished the entire bowl by myself. Best of the lot!

The blanched yau mak in Ah Seng Bak Kut Teh is nothing spectacular. However, the oyster sauce seemed to be mixed with some soya sauce and starch to make it thick and gravy-ish. A little too salty for my taste though. The yau mak is ostensibly fresh, topped with a generous helping of mass-produced fried onions. The portion is good enough for the six of us and it definitely made us feel less guilty for indulging in fatty pork.

A few days ago, a colleague suggested we visit Kampung Subang to indulge in his favourite bak kut teh at Ah Seng Bak Kut Teh. So during lunch time, the six of us bundled up in an MPV for the makan journey. The first thing to come was the mixed claypot bak kut the. The soup was flavourful with much herbal-ly goodness. The treasure pot was filled to the brim with spare ribs, three layer meat, intestines, tau fu pok and button mushrooms topped with some Chinese coriander. A satisfying lunch indeed!
