Prawn dumplings. The prawn dumplings came in a bowl of soup with some vegetables too. The dumpling skin was not too soft as it does not break easily when I scoop it up. The fillings were quite solid and has a lot of prawns in it. The prawns were succulent and crunchy. It was not too salty, and it also have some minced meat to hold it all together. The soup was just a normal soup.

Chee Cheong Fun. The chee cheong fun just came out as it is, except with some sprinkle of sesame. Well, since it came like that, the chee cheong was obviously bland. Since I am a heavy-flavour eater, I squeezed a lot of sweet brown sauce into it. The chee chee fun was not too soft and not too hard, just a nice texture. The portion was a lot though until I was full to the brim.

My dining mates are not interested in the deep fried fu chuk, so I was the only one who ordered it as I am a fan of fu chuk. The deep fried fu chuk from Ipoh Road YTF was a bit small though as compared to the dumpling. It was not that "fat". Nevertheless, the fu chuk skin was crispy and not too many layers wrapping the fish paste. Overall, it was slightly salty and I had to put some sweet sauce.

Deep fried prawn dumpling. We ordered two pieces of deep fried prawn dumpling. Although the size was not consistent, both dumpling skin was very crispy especially the edges. It was fully stuffed with fish paste to the max until it was so bloated in the middle. The fish paste has some prawns mixed in it, and the prawns were soft and succulent, it was moist even though was being deep fried, not too salty.

The stuffed tao fu pok was big too. Normally tao fu pok elsewhere is quite small but this Ipoh Road one was quite big. It manged to stuff some fish paste in. The fish paste was slightly salty and springy, no fishy taste. The tao fu pok was soft but the skin was a bit tough though. It was slightly salty and I had to dip with sweet sauce. I ate with some spring onions to add further aroma to it.

Apart from the greens that I normally ordered, I love to order the "purple" as well - stuffed brinjals. The stuffed brinjals came in a bowl of soup that a bit salty. The stuffing were a lot in the brinjal and the brinjal inself was big too. So this stuffed brinjal added together was quite a big piece. The brinjal was soft and the skin was not tough. Overall, it was slightly salty.

Stuffed lady fingers. I always prefer some greens used in stuffed yong tau fu. I ordered the stuffed lady fingers. The lady fingers were not extremely long but the restaurant stuffed a lot of fish paste into it until the lady fingers were quite bloated in the middle. I would think this is value for money as the fish stuffing were a lot. The lady fingers were crunchy and sweet.

Cabbage. Since we ordered mostly deep fried stuffs, we also added on a vegetable dish to balance up the nutritional value of the meal. The cabbage was topped with deep fried onions. These deep fried onions were crispy and added some salty aroma flavour to the bland cabbages. The soy sauce was sweet and not too salty. The cabbages were crunchy and moist. A normal dish.

我很爱吃ipoh road 的酿豆腐。选择不算多,不过会依据不一样的酿料给不一样的汁或汤。我每次必点的是苦瓜还有煎水饺。配饭吃的话少不了点他们的纸包鸡。浓郁的炬烤方式把鸡的香味全用纸保留着!很棒的搭配。再加上超便宜的,如果你不乱点的话⋯⋯我通常order4-5样,加了饭不到Rm5 呢,适合想省钱的上班族们!!

Some of my favorite yong tau fu items are the brinjals, ladies finger, bittergourd, and plain beancurd. All of these items proved to be very satisfying. They were all fresh and succulent, big pieces and tasty. I like the brinjals for most. The fish paste filling is generous and delicious. There were some starchy gravy but it doesn’t get much of my attention since the yong tau fu are the main items and they were too good.

Chee Cheong Fun seems to be a perfect match with yong tau fu. If you do not want chee cheong fun and wanted something more filling, you can order boiled rice. I quite like the chee cheong fun here because it was just plain and simple. The chee cheong fun is smooth and sprinkled with sesame seeds. Eating it plainly I can taste the aromatic rice water taste. You can add in the sweet hoi sin sauce and chili sauce.

My favorite deep fried yong tau fu I never failed to order is the fried dumpling/sui kao. The fried dumpling is priced at RM1.10 for a piece and I feel the price justify the size and quality of the food. The fried dumpling was non oily and the filling inside was remarkably a lot. The paste filling was fresh and love the sweetness from the minced fish paste. Well marinated filling with some diced carrots and onions in it. Goes well with the sweet hoi sin sauce and chilli sauce.

The spicy anchovies soup comes together with the other yong tau fu dishes. Although this time around we did not order any yong tau fu in soup, they were still nice to serve us the anchovies soup without us requesting for it. The soup never fails to impress me as it was clear, non-oily, sweet and a little spicy. The soup was garnished with some spring onions that enhanced the flavor of the soup. It was delicious and I don’t feel thirsty after drinking it, therefore I assumed no msg in it.

Here we have fried brown tofu, brinjal, chilli and bittergourd stuffed with fish paste, drenched with brown gravy. I like that the brown tofu was nicely cooked till really soft. Bite into it and the gravy splashes in your mouth. The brinjal was fried and too oily. Other places have done better job on this, at least much lesser oil.
