Pork stew Ramen @ RM16.00The pork stew ramen comes with several pieces of thick pork cubes and green vegetables. The soup base is like thick soy soup, very flavouring but a little too salty. The meat are well marinated and cook till so tender. The meat will just melt in the mouth. However, the meat comes with layers of pork lard, it will be jilat if you are not used to the fats.

Beef Ramen @ RM17.00The beef ramen is specially recommended by my friend. The beef is fresh cook when we order, i still can see some reddish colour on the meat. It is quite tender and full of fresh beef aroma. The soup is very rich of beef flavour and there are lots of cutlet onions and spring onions that enhance the soup even better. I almost finish the whole bowl of soup although is much salty if not eaten with the noodle.

Tonkatsu Ramen @ RM14.00Chuka Cafe is located at the Saujana Villa Condominium. We can have a good pool view while eating. Tongkotsu Ramen comes with 3 pieces of round char siew, bean sprout, half piece of hard boil egg and some sprinkle spring onion on top. The ramen is very smooth and thin enough to slurp in the mouth very quickly. The texture of the ramen is just nice, not soft and not too hard too. The char siew part is a little dry but the thick soup compensated the taste.

The miso ramen is specially cooked with 3 types of mixture flavouring. I was surprise to see a butter cube when served. The butter will slowly melt in the hot soup. There are also few pieces of char siew, sweet corns and bean sprout. The soup is very rich of miso taste but the melted butter makes the soup too oily. I think i will just remove the butter before it melted all.

Wifey ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen. I was apprehensive for her, as she cannot really consume very spicy food. However, to our delight, the spiciness is virtually not there. The soup is very creamy and flavourful, full of pork bone taste. The ramen is perfectly cooked, slightly al dente. The pieces of chashu is tender and juicy. I thought that the egg looked more like hard boiled egg than the ones we normally find in ramen shops, with runny egg yolks. Nevertheless, the bowl of noodle was quit

I wanted to eat rice, so I ordered the kimchee beef rice set. It comes with a hotplate full of cabbage, beef and a raw egg on top. I had to quickly mix the egg in the kimchee and beef before the hot plate cools. The set also comes with some pickled cabbage, a cube of white taufoo, miso soup, white rice and three pieces of honeydew. The kimchee beef was spicy, and a bit salty, but it went well with the white rice. Definitely recommended.

Mother-in-law is not a big fan of soupy noodles, hence she opted for the fried ramen. I thought it was quite interesting, as I have never had fried ramen before. The plate of noodle was full of ingredients, namely sliced cabbage, sliced black fungus and beansprouts. I thought it was a bit salty, but mum-in-law was enjoying it very much. The noodle was also overcooked, to my palate, but I guess old people prefer softer type of food.

A colleague who stays near Ara Damansara mentioned that there is a good Japanese shop in Saujana, within the Saujana Villa Condo. Over the weekend, I took wifey and mum-in-law to look for the shop in anticipation for dinner. We were there at 550pm, and had to wait a while as they only open at 6pm. Once they open, we were the first customers, and we immediately ordered. The first item to come was the deep fried baby shrimps. Each shrimp has a light batter, and it was very crunchy and juicy. The gyouza in Chuka Cafe is very nice. Pan-fried pieces of delectable morsels was definitely a good addition to our meal. The skin is slightly thick, but it was fine as it was pan-fried to golden perfection, crunchy and nice. The filling of pork was juicy, and some of the juice actually squirted out when we bit into it. Priced at RM8 for three pieces, it was definitely well worth the amount paid.

Oikimuchi, or preserved cucumber is quite the delicacy in Chuka Cafe. Julienned cucumber, delicately marinated in vinegar to give ut a sourish taste, work wonders as an appetiser. The cucumbers are crunchy and delectable. A portion costs RM8, which to me is decent, considering the preparation needed for this dish. Overall a good dish to have as an appetiser.

Boiled green soybeans, or edamame is our favourite healthy snack. So while waiting for our noodles to arrive, we ordered a portion to snack upon. The edamame is boiled to perfection and lightly salted. The beans are crunchy and has a slight greenish tinge that comes with all kinds of beans. Priced at RM7 a portion, I thought it was slightly expensive, as I can get a whole pack for about RM15. Nevertheless, it was quite enjoyable.

At first, the name sounded quite cute to me. Then I realised that Pitan is actually century egg. Hubby loves century egg and taufu, so we decided to order. The taufu is smooth and delicate, while the chunks of century egg definitely enhanced the taufu's flavour. Served on a bed of soya sauce and garnished with julienned leeks, the dish is rather enjoyable. Priced at RM8 per portion, it was well worth the amount paid.

The waitress recommended us to try the Kakuni Ramen. The Kakuni Ramen in Chuka Cafe is awesome. The soup was thick and gravy-ish. The ramen was cooked well, not too soft. Chunks of braised pork, with the fat and lean parts just right, melts in the mouth. Together with some broiled sawi, the bowl definitely deserved a thumbs-up! Priced at RM16 a bowl, it is well worth the amount paid.
