What’s in the menu? You’ll notice that one of their specialties – Cincalok Fried Chicken with Summer Salsa, a dish that you might doubt due to the shrimp paste used but it is the bomb. Juicy and succulent inside, the right saltiness from the cincalok makes it a good combo! Did we mentioned it was so crispy too? Dipping sauce of tomato & pineapple salsa and kitchen made tomato chutney, give this a try.
Noodles are in the menu too. Chinese noodle but with combination of western style pesto – They called it the Chinese Pesto Flat Noodle. What we love is the texture of the noodle, al-dente and the texture is good neither soft nor overcooked), just perfectly done!
Couldn’t stay away from grains? Then try this Duck Rice! A total different version of the Chinese style duck rice, theirs uses pan-seared duck confit breast, with a poached egg, moist duck fat rice and house pickles, a bowl of palate-pleasing duck rice is served.
Sharing platter is available too, because they know sharing is caring. Recommended and deliciously executed Oriental Spiced Roasted Chicken – half roasted chicken, with orange, lemon, mixed spices and their famous mix of Ulam salad. Refreshing and nice meat texture, a platter that you’ll not regret having!
At the moment, they only serve Teas selection first and there are quite some to choose from! We decided to give scented tea a try – Gold Rush. It was indeed so fragrant and the taste lingers unexpectedly!
While we are so used to visit cafes that are brightly lit, minimalist design and filled with modern design interior, why not take a change from the norm?
Old school, nostalgic and a place filled with memories from the past; while they still maintain the same bricks used, the owner had brilliantly redesign it so you’ll get to step into a great place filled with history and indulge on hearty food!
Let’s take a look at the interior:
Uses wooden tables, rounded stools and old school style wooden chairs; you can spot some raw structure that is not covered with tiles makes it unique just the way it is. With a spiral staircase, leafy green plants and those olden days’ windows; rest assured that this would be the next place you need to visit!
