I never knew there is Kampachi Equatorial branch here at Jaya 33 till today. The environment is much better than the Kampachi I have ever known in Penang Equatorial Hotel. One of my suppliers wanted to buy me lunch and we went to Kampachi at Jaya 33. It was Wednesday and the restaurant was fullly booked with diners. That shows how well received the restaurant is by their customers.From the their extensive menu selection, I ordered a Gindara Teriyaki set (a cod fish set with teriyaki sauce). As the restaurant was packed with diners, I had to wait for a long time before my lunch was served. After around 25 minutes of waiting, my food was served. The set came with a

Gindara Shio set. The set came with miso soup, rice, fruits and some side dishes. The cod fish was quite small despite the hefty price tag. Nevertheless, the cod fish was very fresh and meat was very soft. It has slight salty taste but it does not mask off the freshness of the fish. The lemon juice brought out the freshness from the fish. The miso soup was light and not too salty.

Pickle Ginger. We were seated at a cosy corner in the restaurant and it was quite nice for private conversation. The service was quite attentive. The Manager came over and asked us whether we want pickle ginger. Not long after, she served us a small plate. The pickle ginger was nicely done, sweet and quite tangy at the same time. It still has the ginger taste which was good for the stomach.

Kirara Rice Tea. The tea was served in a smell tea pot. It was priced at RM18, a bit expensive for a pot of tea. However, the moment the tea was poured into my tea cup, I understand why. The aroma of the rice tea flew out and I love the scent! When I drank the first sip, it was slightly bitter, but the tea was soothing, strong rice flavour, it tasted like the rice was being cooked till fragrant.

Assorted Sashimi. There were five different types of sashimi in this platter and each types had three pieces. The one in the basket was kanpachi sashimi that has a springy texture, fresh and sweet. The salmon sashimi was thick, juicy and moist. The tuna sashimi was thick but the texture was too soft for my liking. The Hamachi sashimi has a jelly-like texture which I do not prefer either.

Maccha Ice Cream Special. Since Japanese is famous for green tea, I order the green tea ice cream as a dessert. It was served in a chilled bowl which preserves the iciness of the ice cream. It came with red bean, strawberry and mochi. The ice cream was smooth, creamy and full of green tea taste. Eaten together with the sweet red bean, they made a great combination. The strawberry was slightly sour.
