I was lucky to be invited to have lunch in this restaurant yesterday. So I went with my brother after a time rushing to get back my laptop at Lowyat. This restaurant is located at Kota Damansara which is just behind of Sunway Giza and same row with Kayu Nasi Kandar. It is not hard to find but the sharp blue signboard make it hard to see when the sun shinning at it.

This restaurant have been operated around 3 years now. All they served are Claypot dishes, plus from the menu it look like more to Hakka food. We reach there around 1.50pm (promise to be there at 1.30pm) since I don't have sense of direction (said my brother), we got lost there.

Although we came a bit late which is after lunch time but I was surprise to find the place was empty and we are the only customers there. I guess people here have breakfast and lunch together in the late morning.

We were introduced by the owner of the restaurant a few types of their famous dishes since the menu shows a lot of dishes and a bit confusing for me to see so many words in it.

Herbal Tea-RM2.00
I was planning to order hot tea but instead the owner introduced me their herbal tea. So I proceed with the Herbal Tea to see what so special about it (thinking it maybe like Fireman's Herbal Tea with lotus roots) but it came out to be very normal Herbal Tea that I don't taste any herbal on it instead of sugar syrup. I'm sorry to say that to the owner.

Fa Tiu Chicken (华彫鸡)-RM12.90(S), RM18.00(M), RM 24.00(L)
It taste good, it will be good to those who like strong favoured dish.

Fried Tau Fu c/w Dried Prawn (虾米豆腐)-RM7.90
I found it quite special, as you can see they cut the Tau Fu into 2 pieces and deep fried it. After that, they put it together again then served it with dried prawn on top of it. Where else, normally we see whole piece of Tau Fu served. However, the taste was very mild, it will be tasteless when you eat it with rice.

Fried Egg with Shark Fin(鱼吃炒蛋)-RM12.90(S), RM18.00(M), RM24.00(L)
I personally never try Shark Fin with fried egg before but more to Dong Fen with fried egg that normally cook by my mum at home. The shark fin served a lot on top of the egg, seem like they really put enough ingredient in this dish but I still found the taste to be a bit mild especially when I eat it with rice. I feel tasteless when eating it. I guess it is more suitable for people who consume less salt.

Gold Leaf Village| Klang OK Jan 13, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood | Noodles

This week, we decided to go to Klang for a change. We came to this restaurant again after two years that is once had been review by Astro's TV programme-Ah Xian and have been very packed after his review. However, the business have been slowdown. We went around 1pm but the place was not full at all, only around 2 tables are occupied. This place used to be very packed and we always has to go upstairs but not this time.

Stir Fried Spinach-RM8
A very normal and simply dish but it came out to be quite disappointed.

Stir Fried Sweet and Sour Fish-RM25
This is good, better than my expectation. They use fresh fish fillet rather than those dory fish and cooked it with sweet and sour sauce.

Mamic Chicken-RM14
I can not imagine even my canteen's Mamic Chicken is better than this one. It taste bitter rather than sweet, it is weird to have bitter taste in chicken. I'm not sure what the chef got wrong in this dish but it is the last dish we want to finish.

Fried Pumpkin with salted egg-RM12
I like this dish. Crispy fried pumpkin cover with salty egg make it taste a bit salty but overall still a delicious dish.

Spending per head: Approximately RM27

Best Stewed Duck in PJ-Kam Heong Smile Jan 13, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles | Porridge

Today, I introduced about duck rice. I personally a duck lover and no matter stewed duck or roasted duck I will sure be there for it. Now, I will like to recommend is the famous stewed duck (Lo Ngap) rice in PJ state. I stay near PJ state and always pass by without knowing there is a duck rice shop until my bf recommended me. I think I should explore more in PJ side now. Kam Heong Restaurant is a coffee shop beside OUB bank and just opposite of Menara MPPJ. In the morning, this coffee shop sell the popular Prawn Mee and Claypot Porridge. While in the evening, it is the stewed duck rice that will be taken over the whole coffee shop.

Anyway, if you are first time there, find a seat for you and family. Take a seat, there will have people to come to your table to take order. Even if you prefer to order over the counter, you may do so. So far they have not miss any of my order yet.

Stewed Duck (Lo Ngap)
The duck meat is so tender and juicy with the gravy around, make me call for another bowl of rice. The meat is soft and not like those roasted duck meat which is more harder to eat.

Stewed Pork Leg
Dad and brother like it very much. I wasn't really like to eat big chunk of pork like this one. But it is very nice, the meat is cooked until tender and soft. The potion is ordered according to number of head.

Salty Vegetables
I love this very much. The salty vegetables wasn't salty at all. It is about the same as sour vegetables but it doesn't taste sour at all. It is cooked with the pork oil. A good dish to eat with the duck which stimulate your taste bud before you start your meal.

Stewed Egg

The eggs were cooked in the gravy for a few hours which we can see that the egg become brownish colour. The eggs has totally absorb the gravy which is the main purpose of how stewed eggs created. It is really nice.

Total we (4 pp) have pay around RM 38.00 for the whole dinner without the drinks.

Thanks to Everyday.com.my, I have the opportunity to visit this place. It is a Korean Restaurant at Jalan Ampang, which is located near Ampang Point, 2nd floor of CIMB bank building. It was a bit hard for me to find the place as you can only see the shop if you walk through CIMB bank but while driving, we hardly spot it. I guess it was the location that make it hard for people to come over. The location was a bit crowded during at night when all those small malay's stalls started their business at the road side. But when we arrived to Mureung Dowon, it was so much different from the outside, it is like we have arrived to a beautiful garden where the whole place was decorated by light white colour. It make the whole environment feel soft and cozy.

I bought the coupon for only RM35 to enjoy RM80 meal. It was worth as the food quite suit my taste after a few reviews on Korean Food. I like this place very much. Let me introduce what they offer from the coupon. Basically, we can choose either

Samgyeop-sal + Doenjang-Stewed + 2 Steamed Rice (2 pax)

or

2 Sets Of Bulgogi + 2 Steamed Rice

Since I can't take beef, so I ordered the Samgyeop-sal + Doenjang-Stewed + 2 Steamed Rice set.

For this restaurant, they came with 9 side dishes which is called the Banchan. I like those side dishes very much especially the calms with green chilli and spicy anchovies with groundnuts.

Since we ordered the BBQ sets,we are given a bowl of spring onions, their speciality sauce, green chillies, garlic and lettuces to go with Samgyeop-sal. I personally do not like spring onions but this impress me, I was able to eat it without complaining because it do not have the smell of spring onions plus it is very nice to go with the sauce on top.

Samgyeop-sal is the sliced pork belly that we will wrap in the lettuce with a little of garlic, mushrooms, any kind of side dishes u prefer to go with and then we will roll up and eat it. It will be grilled by the waiter and cut it into small pieces like I have mentioned in the previous post.

Lunch gathering at Ah Yat Abalone Smile Jan 13, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood

Since CNY is just around the corner, our boss decided to have a team reunion lunch before CNY. The nearer restaurant that we can find to have Yee Sang is Ah Yat Abalone Forum Restaurant at Avenue-K. We went around 1pm, the place was packed.

Boss ordered the Half potion Yee Sang as a symbol of good luck for this year. It is Salmon Yee Sang which taste quite good although I do not really fancy yee sang very much.

Roasted Pork
Very thick and juicy roasted pork. It taste very nice but a bit oily.

Lok Ba Kou
I don't like this dish. Very oily and a lot of starch with radish only.

Fried Tofu with anchovy
Fried Tofu will be better if it a bit salty but this one is the taste is quite plain. The outlook was quite delicious.

Siew Mai
Very big siew mai and taste very nice. It would be best if they can serve us the dim sum chilli instead of those hong kong dried chilli.

Shrimp Dumpling (Ha Gao)
Two large whole prawn inside the thin dumpling skin which taste very nice. The shrimps are fresh and juicy. Writing it make me want to have one now.

We only ordered the dim sum and some noodles. They still have a lot of Chinese dishes in the menu. Since CNY, they also offer a few type of 8 course meal which start from RM1299++ and so on..

Spending per head: Approximately RM50(午餐)
