Best Egg Tart I've ever tasted!  Smile Feb 03, 2016
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese | Bakery / Cake / Kuih

it was sinful, crispy & addictive!

I gobbled each of those flavoured egg tarts down as soon as I got a box of it, home from the imbi market. They bake a variety of egg tarts from charcoal sesame, traditional to even green tea! The highlight of these little delicate egg pastries are the crispy crust and the buttery soft custard filling!
if you're a big green tea fanatic, you definitely have to give their green tea egg tarts a go!
The egg tart was not oily at all because it doesn't leave a grease on my lips.

The level of sweetness in the custard filling was also just right.
These yummy and delicious egg tarts were gone in seconds when I placed this box at home. It goes to show how good they were!

Matcha fare! Smile Feb 02, 2016

Our choice of dessert place last night was Nana's Green Tea at Pavilion.
We're big matcha desserts and after wiping the parfait glasses clean, we're super glad that we made the right choice to sample this place out and finally understood the big hype over it.
Judging from the name, Nana's Green Tea, I knew that I had to give their green tea dessert a try here. So I decided to have the Matcha 'Nama Chocolate' Parfait and Black Sesame Gateux Chocolate Parfait.

Both were served in a parfait glass and beautifully layered with different ingredients. The Matcha 'Nama Chocolate' Parfait was a lovely bittersweet symphony derived from the Matcha Chocolate Ganache as well as Vanilla Ice Cream. The most bottom layer sitting in the glass are combination of Kanten Jelly and Matcha syrup, soft serve Vanilla ice cream, generous layer of crunchy cornflakes, topped off with a scoop of Matcha Ice Cream, cubes of Matcha Chocolate Ganache, red bean paste, whipped cream and lastly finished off with a drizzle of Matcha Syrup. The red bean paste complemented the matcha chocolate ganache, making it an ideal bittersweet dessert treat. The choice of matcha syrup to finish everything off was the perfect drizzle as the kanten jellies doesn't bring much flavours out on its own.
Next up is the Black Sesame Gateux Chocolate Parfait. This dessert was perfectly executed with their own house made Black Sesame Gateux chocolate, served with Black Sesame Paste and Black Sesame Ice Cream. It is indeed another heavenly dessert. The good quality of black sesame was evident in its rich flavour. Their house made Black Sesame Gateux was the highlight and could easily stand out on its own.

Coffee and cake! OK Jun 27, 2016
Categories : Western variety | Café | Sweets/Snack

Last Friday, I chose to stay caffeinated with a delicious cup of flat white on single origin El Salvador and a boost from a cup of seniman kakao original chocolate.

I liked how the chocolate was not sweet at all, without being too thick.
While, coffee was yummy to the last sip.

Oh and that amazing Matcha Cheesecake with Oreo base to complete the whole afternoon tea treat!
The cheesecake was really moist and the green tea flavours were really intense!

Thai-ed! OK Jun 20, 2016
Categories : Thai | Restaurant | Seafood

Thai food is not complete without the mandatory Thai Green Curry, Stir Fried Minced Chicken with Basil and a dessert to complete the meal.

I am a huge fan of Thai Green Curry. This version served here had a generous amount of meat to it, and I felt that the gravy could be spicier. Hand me a bowl of white rice and I am sure to wipe the plate clean without a single drop of gravy left.
Moving on to the next entree, we had the stir fried minced chicken with basil. This specialty tasted really delicious and being someone who can't stand spiciness, this wasn't too bad and it is of bearable level.

coffee fix! OK Jun 15, 2016   (Related Review)

Two words, on point.
Coffee grew on me so much today.
Cannot leave here without having a black and white coffees.
The white on Colombia Los Robles Lucio Delgado and the filter on the seasonal Colombia La Loma Antonio Maria Zuniga were perfectly executed!
Not forgetting that slice of lemon thyme cake m. lately I've been really into sliced loafed cakes, and the sight of it makes me excited to give them a try! The lemon thyme cake was really moist without being too buttery. It goes perfectly well that cup of white coffee.
