It was around 12pm when we reached KLCC and were exhausted. We were looking for something cooling for our tea before lunch and found a dessert shop named Tong Pak Fu. There were only 2 people in the shop by the time we passed by, but we were attracted by the photo of the ambassador-Sou Si Wong and decided to give it a try. The environment was comfortable enough even though the tables are too small to fit 5 of us in. Anyway, as there were only few customers by that time, we managed to sit comfortably and were served politely by the workers. Once we have got the menu, we quickly looked for the cold dessert page. There were some choices with the words"best seller" stated on them, so we decided to explore the reason behind the sales. After some consideration, we ordered 3 different dessert for 5 people, so that we could have a try on more choices of food. They were mango snow ice, chocolate snow ice, and the glutinous rice ball with black sesame and peanut topping. Although it was warm and we wanted so much to have ice to be melted in out mouth, we were alarmed that eating too much cold is bad for health, so we decided to order a hot dessert. To me, the service was great as it took only few minutes for the workers to serve us with the mango snow ice. It was served with some honeydew and something gelatinuous, which I could not recognize what it is. Anyway, it tasted great and burst when I bit it. The combination was perfect. The ice snow was really delicate and the soft texture made us finished it within 5 minutes. When we were busy tasting it, came another dessert-the chocolate snow ice. Still delicate, but this time around the snow ice was accompanied by some banana slices and nata de coco. The chocolate-flavoured was not so much delicious as compared to the mango-flavoured, but still we enjoyed it much. Then, we were served with the glutinous rice ball with black sesame and peanut topping. The timing was right and the workers were successful in keeping us busy eating in the shop! It was scrumptious. My Malay friends who have not tried rice ball before complimented it and I was so proud of it. Another point to be added is, the restaurant is Halal and suitable for all Malaysians.

The workers are friendly and patient. I can't see why the shop was not patronized by many people when I was there, except for the fact that it wasn't lunch hour yet. =D

It's a restaurant situated in the newly-opened Paradigm Mall. I've walked passed it for many times in 1 Utama but this was the first time I entered the restaurant as I was so longed for fish and chips. There were three of us, and we were welcomed warmly by the workers there. The service was great. It was not too long until we were served with the menu and were told that the recommendation of the day is Seafood Baked Rice.

However, we did not take the recommended dish but had chosen the Seafood Platter for 2. We reckoned it would be sufficient for three of us as we were not too hungry that time tongue Plus it is stated in the menu that the platter won an award and consists of tiger prawns, fillet, calamari, rice and chips, which is what we aimed for that night. So, it went naturally that we ordered the dish. Of course, they are still many other choices. They serve all kinds of seafood with attractive pictures. As for drinks, we ordered a Kola Tonic.

While waiting to be served with the food, I looked around and found that the environment was calming and comfortable. The workers are very friendly and the tables are suitable for family dining, couple dating and even friends gathering too. Everything was right until the food was served. All the seafood was okay except for the calamari rings and the rice. They tasted wierd mad And the unsatisfying platter costed us RM48.90. sadHowever, the drink was nice and the environment was great.smile

My sister and I had our brunch at the nicely decorated restaurant-The Wok Cafe. The decoration in the restaurant are of Nyonya style and there is a television playing the Singapore drama"Little Nyonya". Antiques, pictures and signature of known actors, old grandfather clock, a picture of an old man, wooden plaque are used as the decorators of the restaurant. The wall is made up of wood, and the workers are wearing tradisional-like uniform. Stepping into the restaurant, I feel like it is my responsible to lower my voice, as it seems like a very respectful place, where my grandparents once lived when they were still alive.

The foods served are familiar to me, as my mother also cooks them oftenly. The taste is more to salty, like the usual Chinese food. We ordered Hong Bak and a plate of Siu Pak Choi, and concluded that the food is quite salty. The food tasted OK but eating in the restaurant would definitely be an enjoyment for everyone.smile

Bad experience in Chatime OK Feb 10, 2012

It was the grand opening of Chatime outlet in Kota Damansara and there was a promotion: Buy 1 Free 1. So, I went to the shop with my sister after our dinner. It was already 9.53pm but when we drove passed the road, there was still a long queue. As we heard many favourable comments on the Chatime bubble tea, we decided to give it a try. (We were actually attracted by the buy 1 free 1 promotion too tongue)

As we knew that the promotion ends at 10pm, we quickly ran to the shop and queued for it, hoping to get the promotion. We were disapponted at the beginning because we thought that it was hopeless to get the free cup of bubble tea anymore, as it was already 9.59 when we reached the shop and there was still long queue in front of us. However, we decided to continue our queueing to see if there would be any more chances for us. Therefore, we lined up in the long queue. Although the queue looked long, we waited for only around 10 minutes. In front of me, there was an old woman who were puzzled about the promotion. I was glad to see that the cashier was friendly and helpful enough to guide the woman by telling her the differences between the cold and hot drinks, regular and large drinks.

Then, came our turn, and the cashier really happened to tell us that the promotion would end at 11pm because there were many customers. How lucky we were! We quickly ordered a Red Bean Milk Tea, and chose a free Pearl Milk Tea, where both of the flavours were recommended by the shop. We did not face any difficulties deciding the flavours because I was told by a friend before that Red Bean Milk Tea was marvelous.

We waited for drinks outside the shop as there were too crowded inside, which i think it would only happen on promotion days. The tables and seat arrangement in the shop looked quite comfortable if there was not so many customers. One more thing to be mentioned is the chairs in the shop. They were decorated as upside down dustbins. They looked just alright although they are dustbins.lol

We waited long enough and I nearly lost my patience. My sister comforted me and after a while, she discovered that some customers who ordered after us had already got their drinks. We asked the workers but they did not take it serious. What they did was just asking us to wait for some more time. After nearly 45 minutes, my sister could not stand anymore and this time around, she asked for the drinks assertively. That was when the workers realized that they had made mistakes in the ordering of the drinks. They prepared the free one for us but missed our ordered drinks.sad The free one was no longer cold as it was already served for quite some time.sad

We did not require for a cold one by asking them to do a new one, as we did not want to wait anymore. What we wanted was to go back and get into bed. And the drinks turned out to be just a normal ones. It could not even be compared with the ones we bought at the road stalls.
