Spaghetti Aglio Olio Smile Sep 20, 2013   (Related Review)

The spaghetti Aglio Olio in Pig Out Café is quite nice. The spaghetti was done al dente, just cooked long enough that it is neither crunchy nor too soft. Aglio Olio means garlic and oil, hence it is expected that there will not be much ingredients in the spaghetti. There were some cherry tomato halves in it, and some pepper flakes on top for the added flavour. Quite nice and refreshing, doesn’t give you the stodgy aftertaste. Definitely recommended.

Pig Out Café Roast Smile Sep 20, 2013

I usually pass by the FAS field on the way home, so I have seen the development of Park Lane Commercial Hub since day one. I was eager to see what shops would be opened there, as there were advertisements about plenty of eatery stores there. Couple of days ago, when I passed by, there was this new restaurant called Pig Out Café. Intrigued, wifey and I decided to pay them a visit. Parking is free for now, since the place is not entirely operational yet. We went there and ordered. There weren’t that many patrons when we arrived, but the place was definitely bustling when we left. So we ordered, and the food came fairly quickly. First was our entrée of Pig Out Café Roast. Essentially roast pork, it is a 200g pork belly cut marinated overnight and roasted with chunky cut carrots and potatoes and served with applesauce. I thought that the skin was a bit too hard, tooth-breakingly crunchy actually. Other than that, it was top class roast pork. Limited portions daily, it is well worth the amount of RM18 paid.

Hor Fun Soup Smile Sep 19, 2013   (Related Review)

I personally prefer soup with my noodle, hence I decided to order the hor fun soup. The noodle is silky smooth, very easy on the throat. There weren't much ingredients, only a few pieces of gau choy. The noodle is meant to be eaten with the steamed chicken. The soup has some MSG taste, but that is quite expected. For those who prefer an extra spicy

kick, a small saucer of chilli padi and soya sauce is provided.

Hor Fun - Dry Smile Sep 19, 2013   (Related Review)

Wifey likes her noodles dry, or kon loh. The hor fun in Restoran Soo Kee is quite nice. A bit too dry for my tastes, but that can be solved by asking for a separate bowl of soup. The noodle is done well, silky smooth. There were some pieces of shredded chicken, and topped with some gau choy. Eaten together with some chilli padi and soya sauce, the taste is quite delicious.

Smooth Steamed Chicken Smile Sep 19, 2013

Wifey and I were around the area, and we decided to visit Restoran Soo Kee to tuck into their famous steamed chicken. We order a portion for two people, and I was happily surprised to see that they gave me my favourite drumstick part. The chicken was very smooth and delectable. There were some special oyster sauce mix that was put on top before serving. A good blend of saltiness and sweetness, the chicken was absolutely delicious.
