Quo vadis on a lazy Sunday noon? Let’s enjoy some ‘pigging out’ session with sumptuously inhouse marinated porcine dishes at the aptly named hideout- Pig Out Café!It’s located somewhat new Parklane commercial center of Kelana Jaya, with most of the food are crafted passionately by Yan, whose won her spurs in previous catering venture that has garnered positive feedback from her clients, hence the brainchild of this café.The humble establishment boats a homey feel with cheeky piggy-themed bric-a-bracs to enliven the atmosphere. Diners could enjoy honest home-prepared food within a cozy and fuss-free environment. For light eats, go for the promising soup………..CARROT SOUP (MYR 6)Served fragrantly with sprinkles of herbs …………… without further ado, sink your teeth into what could potentially be the best appetizer, roasted pork meat. As if cholesterol can't get better than this, hehe………POC ROAST (MYR 18) 200g prime belly cut marinated overnight and roasted with chunky cut carrots and potatoes, served with applesauce. Only limited portions are available daily, therefore it’s better to ring up prior to your visit to avoid any disappointment. Seeking flavor-soaked porchine nosh? Then this supreme succulence certainly fits the bill perfectly. POC CHOPS (MYR 16)Grilled shoulder chops served with garlic sauce, mashed potato and coleslaw.Meat is thoroughly marinated and tasted lusciously to the palate, albeit the slightly simple presentation. The creamy mashed potato is good, comes with some light milkiness and not too dry with the equally tart homemade coleslaw too.Don't miss the restaurant's own-made porky burger that is on par with those big names that are already known to the foodies of Klang Valley.POC BURGER (MYR 16)Patty, lettuce, onions, enoki and cheese served with fries and coleslaw. The meaty patty is very juicy and tender at the same time, imparting its glorious jus when biting them. Apart from that, the portion is well prepared just nice for everyone’s ease of consumption whereby one need not to eat clumsily with all fillings tumbling down as you try to chomp down the huge sandwiched buns decently (=After a satisfying and flavourful feast, it’s time to clear the throat with some refreshing chillers!PASSION FRUIT FIZZ (MYR 5)STRAWBERRY FIZZ (MYR 5)More notable new dishes would be introduced from time to time, so do keep abreast with its page for more of its deliciously made porky rendition.Cheers for now and Carpe Diem! ❤ℒℴѵℯ❤Location: No. A-G-3, Jalan SS 7/26, Selangor, 47301 Kelana Jaya, MalaysiaContact: +6016 232 9248Opening Hours: 12pm -4pm, 6pm-10pm (Closed on Wed)Website: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Pig-Out-Cafe/211857955560030 continue reading

Pig Out Cafe's menu is rather small, only 1 page but be sure that they are packed with all porky goodnessCounter where it's near the kitchen. The restaurant looks like a fully family run business. The interior is neat and tidy with ample amount of space to cater small or large crowd alikeI ordered the special not-in-the-menu spaghetti aglio olio. It took them a while to serve. The pasta was a bit hard for my liking. And the pork bacon bits were small and little. What I like about this dish is the halved cherry tomatoes that added a bit of exciting, sourness to the otherwise, quite mediocre pasta. continue reading

Wifey didn’t know what to order for drinks, so I told her to get the strawberry fizz. I secretly wanted to try that out as well, but didn’t want the entire cup. The drink came in a jiffy, and we need to stir it up a bit as the strawberry mixture is at the bottom. A bit sweet, but still acceptable as the ice diluted it some. Priced at RM5 a glass, it was well worth the amount paid. continue reading

Gettin' piggy with it at this cafe that opened this week, promising a primrose path of pork in Kelana Jaya's fledgling Parklane commercial center. The marquee attraction: Roast pork belly, 200 irresistible grams of meat marinated overnight & served with chunky-cut carrots, potatoes & applesauce (RM18 only). Grilled pork chop with garlic sauce, coleslaw & creamy-flavorsome mashed potatoes (RM16). Pig Out's food features a home-cooked feel, not a restaurant's polish; this is honest fare, without lofty ambitions of revolutionizing the cafe industry.Spaghetti bolognese with pork meatballs (RM16). Servings are generous; our only quibble is that some of these recipes can seem heavy on the salt.Caesar salad with own-smoked bacon (RM12, prices are nett for now). It's like eating at a favorite aunt's house or at a potluck where friends spent days poring over the menu & pouring every ounce of energy into making each dish. But accidents can happen: This cottage pie (RM7) emerged burnt at the bottom, with overly charred minced pork beneath the mashed potatoes. continue reading
