The prawn mee in Old Town White Coffee is so-so, probably because the soup doesn’t have the pork bone flavouring as this is a halal restaurant, hence the soup lacked kick. The yellow noodle was also a bit overcooked. However, ingredients were quite decent, with half a hard-boiled egg, beansprouts, chicken slices and some medium-sized prawns. Priced at RM11.50 a bowl, it was reasonable.

The Ipoh Hor Fun in Old Town White Coffee is quite nice, albeit slightly lacking in flavour. The hor fun, flat rice noodles, were silky smooth. There were pieces of chicken slices as well as some decent-sized prawns. There were also a generous serving of gau choy. The soup was a bit bland, so I needed to add some soya sauce in. Overall a decent meal with an acceptable serving priced at RM11.50 per bowl.

The peanut butter thick toast is quite delicious. The toast is crunchy and fluffy at the same time, served piping hot. The top of the toast is slathered with a generous amount of peanut butter drenched with some condensed milk. Personally I thought the combination of toast and peanut butter was rather dry, but hubby liked it very much. He basically polished off the entire thing.

The kaya and butter toast in Old Town White Coffee was a slight letdown. I remembered the last time I visited, which was quite some time ago, they slathered a generous amount of kaya and lots of butter. However, the one here was rather measly. The bread was still as good, warm, crunchy and well toasted. Will definitely need to let the waiter know to put more butter and kaya the next time.

The yam ice-cream in Meatworks is just so-so. I personally do not prefer yam in the first place, so this doesn’t really hold any appeal to me. It was served with some raisins, which was a nice touch. It was also decorated with a cherry as well as a mint leaf. Hubby liked this very much, so he basically vacuumed the whole thing. I would probably skip this if hubby orders again the next time.
