Bak Kut Teh! Smile Jan 10, 2013
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Bak Kut Teh

Bak Kut Teh! So everyone has differing views and preferences when it comes to BKT. Some of the main differing tastes/preferences in BKT is the soup - some like the soup thick, others like it light or maybe full of herbs/spices.

I like my BKT soup with lots of herbs. And this BKT on a cold, rainy night - that's what we call 'shiok'. Ah Ping BKT, has it right - tender meat, tau fu pok, fu chuk, golden mushrooms and one of the plus sides is that it has garlic and cili padi in a container that makes it easy to take and consume smile

They also have the dry BKT here but its not all that great to me. Probably gets a rating of 6/10.

My rating for BKT at Ah Ping is an 8/10 smile (only on taste tho - the environment and cleanliness is negligible since its by the road side).

Best Fish Head noodles Smile Jan 10, 2013

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Steamboat/Hotpot | Seafood | Noodles

I also happen to be a big fan of eating fish (seems like the question should be: what am I not a fan of)
And the BEST Fish Head Noodles I've ever head is at Kaki Bola XO Fish Head Noodles, Taman Paramount.

Since my first time eating at this place, I've never stopped craving for it and by this I mean I have this constant urge/desire/pms-pregnant-woman-like-craving/non-stop-on-my-mind feeling to eat it at this place ALL THE TIME.
And I can assure you, I'm not the only one ;)

So what is it that makes this Fish Head Noodles so absolutely crave-alicious?

The Noodles - because of its springy texture, not over cooked. just the right size. Rated: 10/10

The Fried Fish, The Soup and The Chilli are all secondary but most importantly, complimentary to the awesome noodles.
(It may not be prominent but it is significant)
And because everything goes so well together, this dish is rated 10/10.

If your going there for your first time, here's some helpful tips to help you with your order:

1. Fried fish or fresh?
(Recommendation: fried)

2. Skinny noodles or fat?
(Recommendation: fat noodles*ahem, no connotations or metaphor of any sort is implied here*)

3. Would you like the soup with milk or without?
(Recommendation: With milk)

4. Choose whether you want extra XO or not
(I recommend a yes lol)

Recommended Dish(es):  Fried Fish Head Noodle.
