Chilly Fish
– The mackerel was fresh, well cooked and lightly crisp. Chilly with shallots topping complements the fish. Some heat from chilly would score the dish more.
Rating: 8/10
Cincaluk Platter
– Slightly saltish, guess due to the marinade. Squid was slightly overcooked, prawns could have been fresher and chicken was a tad bit dry.
Rating: 6/10
Keluak Ocra
– An acquired taste, the keluak that is – has a nice earthy taste. Maybe some heat or tamarind juice would cut the sweetness and make the dish more interesting.
Rating: 6/10
Keluak Sambal Potato Leaf
– Good balance between keluak and sambal. Good alternative to the atypical sambal belacan water convolvulus.
Rating: 7/10
Keluak Seed
– Its core smells like aged and exposed brandy.
Pie Tee
– Light batter made this crispy cup the best part. Fillings lack texture – overcooked jicama, dull cucumber & chilly and scramble egg was under-seasoned. Chilly sauce was good though.
Rating: 5/10
Pongteh Chicken
– Onc of the most traditional I have eaten. Slight reduction in sweetness would have me drink the gravy.
Rating: 8/10
Sambal
– Only setback was it has no heat. Otherwise, would have scored 9 or possibly 10.
