It is not easy to be able to find affordable Vietnamese food in Malaysia (at least from what I know). There are many Vietnamese restaurants in KL but not many in Puchong. Here's one of my greatest discoveries. Mimi Nguyen is a restaurant I first visited after school with my friends for lunch. A birthday lunch to be exact. For students, this place is pretty darn affordable. Mimi nguyen is visible from the main road (Jalan Puchong). The interior here is splendid. Very kampung styled theme. I remember during one visit to this restaurant, I saw ducks walking around together with their ducklings. Horrors of horrors, they do serve Balut (a Philippine cuisine), half formed duck egg cooked and when you crack it to eat, u kind of see the duckling's form and the bones. Ew. Totally NOT my thing. But that aside, I really really enjoy their phos (noodles). Mimi nguyen offers a wide range of noodles, rice vermicelli to be exact. They also serve spring rolls and other really amazing Vietnamese appetizers and snacks. The best part is that the servers are also Vietnamese. Bhan Mee is another Vietnamese type of food that you should definitely try here. Forget about subway breads, seriously, try their Bhan Mee. They bake them themselves. They also have a wide range of rice options, I personally really like their fried rice and chicken chop rice thing. All these are affordable, yes, but it isn't what that always keeps me coming back. Here's the thing that keeps me coming back to this particular restaurant, it is their drinks. Here, they make wonderful drinks. Certain drinks aren't that affordable but like I always say, you get what you pay for. Sure they have the infamous Vietnamese coffee that tastes amazing both old and hot, but what's best here is their milkshakes, I'm not speaking of the conventional American milkshakes that have chocolate or strawberry, I'm talking about healthy milkshakes that taste wonderful. Example, avocado milkshake like you see in the picture. That amazing thing costs 9.90 and it is Super creamy and just plain heaven. Eat it immediately as it has been served and you would believe you're eating ice cream. Other than that, they also have amazing Ciku ice blended and coconut ice blended. Amazing!excitedexcited

Kin San Kichi has been one of the very first Japanese restaurants I have been visiting ever since I could remember, or at least a Japanese restaurant with the most authentic good-tasting Japanese restaurant that my family and I have been very loyal to ever since our first visit. This japanese restaurant is located in one of the small shop lots in Sri Hartmas among tons of Korean restaurants and supemarkets. Kin San Kichi offers a very nice and oriental dining atmosphere. Kin San Kichi gives off a very true Japanese restaurant vibe, small and cramped but yet spacious at the same time. Every piece of furniture there is placed tightly together avoiding any waste of space but definitely does NOT leave you with an unpleasant dining experience. Like most Japanese restaurants in Japan, Kin San Kichi allows customers a slight view of the kitchen where you can see the chefs busy cooking up your meal at the back of the restaurant. For most malaysians, yes, the toilets here are very clean. Like I said earlier Kin San Kichi who offers one of the most authentic Japanese food in town (of those that I know), serves the one of the BEST cold sobas in town. Their cold soba is definitely affordable where if we're talking about you get what you pay for. Here's a tip, you MUST crack the Pigeon egg into your broth and add a tiny bit of wasabi. The next best dish that I adore from this restaurant is their sashimi, truth be told, I first started to learn how to eat sashimi in this very restaurant! Their sashimi set comes with a sashimi platter with salmon, tuna, butterfish, cuttle fish and other stuff, each a few slices and a bowl of aromatic Japanese calrose rice. Again, this sashimi set is one of the cheapest and most fresh sashimi sets I've ever tasted. When visiting kin San Kichi, it's like landing your foot in Japan for a meal and leaving after that. And, let us not forget about desserts, like what Japan is famous for, matcha, their matcha (green tea) ice cream here is definitely BOMB! It's not just it's wonderful creamy and icey texture but also the wonderful strong green tea taste unlike cheaper green tea ice creams that have barely any green tea taste. As for drinks, if you are not underage, then go ahead and try their sake. For those underage, you can stick with the good old Japanese green tea. All in all, I definitely recommend all Japanese food lovers to drop by this awesome and affordable Japanese restaurant.

Affordable Korea Bbq OK Jan 26, 2016

Categories : Korean | Restaurant | Seafood | BBQ | Group/Family dining

Korean BBQ is currently the most it-thing among young Malaysians now especially those who've just caught onto the whole K-culture wave. There are plenty of Korean BBq chains and invidually owned korean bbq restaurants in Malaysia at the moment. But, one that gives off the exact same vibe as the ones you see in Korean dramas where the lead character is sitting at a short round table eating their BBq meat with a bottle of soju, San nae dul will be that exact restaurant that sets off that vibe. San nae dul is situated in one of the shop lots around Solaris dutamas but most people do not notice San Nae Dul as it is situated at one of the corner lots way inside, where most people do not bother walking to and end up eating at other Korean places. Even I, myself found this place through my cousin's Instagram post. San Nae Dul offers Super quick service. The staff here serve you straight as you walk in. San Nae Dul mainly offers meats either in sets or individually but obviously the sets for 2-3 people are always the most worth it ones to order. Not only that, San Nae Dul also offers a few jiggaes (Korean stews) like sundubu jiggae (tofu stew) and other Korean stews. However, unlike other Korean restaurants, the jiggaes here aren't served with rice (that's why the stews are so cheap compared to other places) and instead you have to order rice separately. The BBqs I'd recommend from this place would be their pork belly and the baby octopus in gochujang sauce. But make sure you do not overcooked the baby octopus because it is not going to taste nice rubbery. If you aren't sure how Long to cook it for, always feel free to ask the staff to do it for you. Also, the 'service' (Koreans' way of saying free stuff, it is very common in Korea) in this restaurant is basically the free burnt rice tea that is refill-able. Here's a tip, the gochus (chilis) and garlics and lettuce are all refill-able. Another tip when eating here is to NEVER over order, it's a bbq shop, you cook most of the stuff yourself, add on only when you have not had enough, this way, your meet will alwaya be freshly Bbqed. Keep in mind that if you are the type to sweat and eat, you'd probably want to visit this place on a cool or rainy day. Also, keep in mind to be early because this place does get crowded during peak hours. Yes, that is really how good it is.

Hot Afternoon OK Jan 15, 2016

Mom and I decided to go for a tea break after window shopping around Bandar Puteri. So, we driving round and round because we don’t know where to go and no parking around. And so lucky we got a parking in front of the PFCC building so we decided to go somewhere nearby – Walnut Café and Bar. Go to some café surely have to try out their signature food and drinks – Lemongrass White Tea and Croque Monsieur. Their lemongrass white tea will be serving in a mini barrel that out of your expectation. This drink is definitely refreshing in the hot afternoon. Each mini barrel is about 1 liter and it can serve around 4 people. The Croque Monsieur is a kind of sandwich toast with ham, fried egg and cheddar. The fried and salad will come along with the sandwich in a set. I like their fried so much, it is crispy and taste just nice. However, their service was quite disappointed us. We waited the food for almost 45 minutes and finished up half barrel of drink. The comfortable environment in the café is just suits for family dining and friend gathering. Lastly, I still like their food and the services is still ok as they apologized about the late serving at last. likelikelike

1 liter drink is too much for 2 people and just right for 4 people.

Big lens discovering Smile Jan 13, 2016

Have a great night with my mom last time this cafe. It is a nice relaxing place for people to come over and get a sit to talk with friends and family. For those who photography lovers, this place will really catch your attention. There is a big camera mural on the wall and coffee art also about camera. Not only that, there are camera icon is also on their macaroons. So, I had ordered a set of Big Stopper meal for dinner. Yea, I eat breakfast set as my dinner. Luckily, we order a set of meal only as the set came in a huge portion but is quite value to price. There was harsh brown, bread, scramble egg, bacon, two different sausages and tomato as topping. My mom and I like the sausages very much, the taste not like those artificial sausages and not chewy. It has the real taste of sausage like real meat. For coffee, they will serve a biscuit with each cup of coffee. And I had ordered a cup of mocha for the night. The mocha taste full of chocolate milk with slightly coffee taste just like the ratio of mocha. I recommend the mocha for those who like to try to drink coffee but don’t want it to taste too bitter. Lastly, this will a great place to have a sit with friend or for assignment discussion as their wifi strength is strong. balloonballoonballoon
