Chicken Porridge at Sweetree Smile Aug 27, 2015

Categories : Korean | Restaurant | Noodles | Halal

For rainy days, this bowl of porridge serves well!

Served along with deep fried anchovies, chicken meat and seaweed (and some soy sauce), the warm porridge will leave you with a sense of satisfaction, particularly on rainy days.
The ambience is nice and there is a language/culture learning centre on the first floor of the restaurant too. Hence, you might wanna visit this place if you are keen to learn some Korean culture.

Special Cantonese Fried Kuey Teow Smile Aug 27, 2015

Categories : Chinese | Café | Noodles | Juices / Bubble Tea / Tea / Yogurt | Ice Cream / Froyo / Gelato

Went to café Quan for lunch today and stumbled upon this special Cantonese fried kuey teow.
From the picture on the menu, it looked like some kind of golden crackers.

Really, I’ve never seen such a dish before - basically the kuey teow is deep fried till crisp.

The portion is really huge and the kuey teow actually tastes like crackers. Just towards the end of it, you’ll feel the texture getting softer, hence you’ve got to finish it fast before it soaks too long in the soup.

Waiting time is a bit long considering the crowd at lunch hour.

As the name suggests, this bowl of noodles is indeed huge, all for RM7.

The highlight of this prawn noodle is definitely the broth! You can taste the sweetness of the soup itself and you will want to slurp every single bit of the soup, no kidding, this could be on par with the famous Penang prawn noodles!

Chocolate Lava  Smile Jul 28, 2015

The chocolate lava is gives you a heart-warming sensation as the cake's temperature gets in equilibrium with the temperature of your mounth. lollollollol Ya know what I mean!

Anyways, this costs RM9.80 for both the lava cake and the ice-cream. Fair enough.

Service may be a bit slow though, but you can chat with your friends/date while waiting. tonguetonguetongue

Fish Porridge Smile Jul 28, 2015
Categories : Thai | Malaysian variety | Food court

I've got to say I haven't been eating any good fish porridge for some time, 'cause usually the fish meat served is actually fish fillet.

There is a stall in 118 Restaurant Hurry that sells yummy fish porridge @RM7.50. The fish meat is not of fish fillet, hence a bit pricey.

The porridge smells really good even before you taste it and the seasoning is just right - not tasteless or too salty.
