All time favourite Smile Jan 14, 2012

I am a chicken pie lover! And the Signature chicken pie from Dome Cafe is my all-time favourite! It is not really a pie, to be exact, but pretty much a bowl of creamy chicken & mushroom that topped with a pastry sheet, and baked in the oven. The pastry layer is so crispy, and nice to eat with the creamy sauce of the chicken. Thumbs up!

Occasionally I will order their creamy seafood pasta. The sauce is very rich, creamy and cheesy! Sinfully good.

Tea with milk is always my perfect ending to a great meal in Dome cafe.

Jogoya offers good quality of Japanese buffet, with lots of options to choose from. Their sashimi bar is very impressive.

There are a wide variety of cooked food displayed at different stations. Also, there are quite a number of cook-upon-order dishes, where you can place the clip (with you table number on it) into the bowl in front of the dishes you want to order, the chef will cook the dish on the spot and bring to your table later. Two of my favourite dishes are the cod fish and the crab. Cod fish is steamed just well, retain the fat and the freshness of the fish.

The crab dish is yummy! The vermicelli cooked with the crab has assorbed the natural seafood sweetness from the crab, very flavourful. Good stuffs!

The dessert bar is quite spectacular too. You will find quite a few desserts made from matcha green tea, very refreshing.

Dim sum with class! Smile Jan 13, 2012

Located in Starhill, Luk Yu Tea House has it's own classy atmosphere. The restaurant has a delicate design both interior and exterior. Even the serving plates they used are elegant in a way.

Most of their dim sum are yummy. My personal favourite is the stuffed tofu, eggplant and chilli. The black bean sauce taste very nice.

Dessert wise, Mango Sago with Pamelo is awesome! It is very refreshing, with rich flavour mango puree, and a little bit of sourness from the pamelo. Thumbs up.

Oldie taste Smile Jan 12, 2012

Started from a tiny hawker stall at Petaling Street, Kim Lian Kee has a long history in making the world class fried hokkien noodles. It has been featured in countless magazines and foodies' blogs/reviews.

Indeed the taste is awesome, the sauce used to stir fry the hokkien noodles is tasty, plus there are a lots of crispy pork lard residues, it is sinfully yummy!! Also, with handful amount of cabbages in the noodles, making the dish not oily at all.

Authentic Hakka dishes Smile Jan 12, 2012

I love Hakka food as it's part of my childhood memory, and I reckon food in Ying Ker Lou have the similar taste as mum's cooking, the authentic Hakka flavour!

The Hakka style Yam Abacus is quite nice, the balance between the glutinous flour and yam paste is well done, chewy and nice to bite on. The dish is stir-fried with lots of mushroom and shrimps. Yummy!

Lei Cha is basically a bowl of rice that topped with lots of different vegetables, beancurd and nuts. Very healthy! It is served with a bowl of 'tea', which has some tea leaves, sesame, peppermints etc blended in. I love to pour the tea over to the rice and eat (authentic way), but some people might not be able to accept the taste of tea, and choose to eat the rice with vegetables only. Your choice actually!

We also ordered the steamed minced pork. The dish is very well done. The right ratio of fatty meat and lean meat used makes the dish so great. Good job.
