Desserts Bar Steak

Desserts Bar Steak

Seriously, if you have go to Desserts Bar, just order the desserts (although I have not tried them before) than any other meal. I got nothing good to say about this place than spoiling my whole appetite until late at night. The steak I ordered was not well cooked, it's like rubber, tasteless, the sauce is thick and gooey, the side dish (lettuces) is not fresh at all! After this, I do not even know whether I would want to try their desserts! huffy

Smoked Salmon Sandwich

Smoked Salmon Sandwich

Fullhouse is quite popular among youngsters for chit-chatting or hanging out with friends during weekends or even weekdays. It is a Lifestyle Store and Cafe. Their concept is a mixture of taiwanese and victorian-esque deco style with cartoon drawings on their wall. I sat down and ordered a Smoked Salmon Sandwich as I needed something light for lunch.

I cut a piece and put into my mouth and it tasted so-so and a weird kind of smell. The salmon is not fresh to my disbelieve. I thought it was my imagination and maybe the sandwich tasted like this since this is the first time I am eating smoked salmon sandwich.

What do you know, the salmon is not fresh indeed! That particular night, I had a stomach upset and I went to the toilet numerous times. I went to see the doctor and he said I had food poisoning. It's totally sad they used non-fresh salmon to serve their customers.

Sorry to say, I may still pay a visit there if there is a gathering of friends but NO food for me, just drinks! Once is enough. huffy

Soup in Bread OK Dec 27, 2011

Mushroom Soup in Bread

Mushroom Soup in Bread

In western countries it is a norm for them to dip bread into soup and it is also such a creative way for espresSOUP for containing your soup with bread. I came across this place in Berjaya TImes Square and it caught my eye. There are 3 types of soup for you to order which is mushroom, clam and pumpkin. I chose mushroom as it is the most common flavour of all in case of spoiling my appetite trying others.

The portion is not very big, I mean the soup and not the bread. The bread is very thick, supposedly to contain the soup from flowing out and it is made of wheat and rye flour so it is quite tasteless. There is a manual on the place you sit teaching you how to eat this soup. It's kind of messy as you need to cut it open and let the soup flows down on the dish and then you cut the bread into pieces and dip on the soup to eat. Nevertheless I don't feel anything special except the way the soup is served. It tastes normal to me, nothing more.

A Taste of its Own OK Dec 21, 2011

Curry Mee

Curry Mee

Been to KLCC a number of times and I always see big crowd swarming Little Penang Kafe during lunch hours. One day, my girlfriend and I went there after lunch hours. The place was not crowded at that time. On their menu's are mostly penang delicacies, well not all but covers the most essential ones. Some may say it is hawkers' food and it tasted better than here but I can compromise for just trying it out.

I ordered Curry Mee and to my surprise the portion is quite big with ingredients such as prawns, cuttle fish, deep fried tofu, cockles, and mint leaves. The coconut milk based soup is quite fragrant too. I kind of enjoy this dish.
Char Kuay Teow

Char Kuay Teow

My girlfriend ordered "Char Kuay Teow" (Fried Mee) and the portion is similarly big. Maybe you would say you can get Char Kuay Teow anywhere with a cheaper price but then you got to try to believe that it is actually quite appeasing. The dish quite resembles the one I ate in Penang before but of course there is no argue that the Penang Char Kuay Teow tastes better but then you can say that for a commercial local meal, I am quite pleased with it.

NZ/AUS Prime Fillet

NZ/AUS Prime Fillet

Castell Restaurant has been here for quite some time and has been the talk-of-the-town in recent years but my girlfriend and I was quite disappointed things turn out to be. Maybe i used an offer coupon I bought from a website which actually make my food turn out bad. As the saying goes "What you pay is what you get".
The appetizers

The appetizers

I must say the Fresh Bread with Balsamic Vinegar and Olive Oil is a great appetizer just before the main dish but the Mushroom Cheese Bruschetta was quite a letdown as it was soggy and salty. The Prime Fillet NZ/AUS – tenderloin fillet with sherry sauce is even worse. I requested for medium and but it came out almost rare and seriously the meat was not tender and I was like chewing leather. They cooked it again for me but I was already not in the mood. The Grilled Salmon was so-so, nothing really to talk about.

Choc Chip Hazelnut Friands

Choc Chip Hazelnut Friands

The only thing that is worthy to talk about is their desserts. Apple Almond Crumble and Choc Chip Hazelnut Friands was out of the earth. The ice cream goes well with the crumble. It really melts in your mouth leaving a pleasant aftertaste. Choc Chip Hazelnut Friands was prepared hot and it has half melted chocolate chip and hazelnut in it. A simple bite with ice cream, just make my day.

Seriously, if it had not been the desserts, definitely I would not be going back there again.
