If you’re looking for a quiet place to sit and unwind, Little Collins is the superb bakery to be in. Located along Jalan Solaris, this is a place hard to miss. All the small touches contributed to the great ambience, thus bringing out the french cafe experience in this bustling city. Not forgetting the florist which shares the same roof, played its part in making us felt welcomed the moment we stepped in. Simplicity is all it takes.

I’m those people who enjoyed breakfast, and a whole day breakfast deal really make my day. We ordered the Big Breakfast Set (RM16.90) and a Turkey Egg Pita (RM12.90) for brunch. Each paid RM2 for our add-on juices, and was satisfied with the nice portion of our meal.

Chilled Out @ Kissaten Smile Sep 07, 2012

Kissaten is all about Japanese fusion. Sushi is not the highlight here but the rest of the food – good is the word for it. This foodie affair happens to be a farewell dinner from my colleagues for me, and the restaurant helped to cater us with a table for nine. There wasn’t any hiccups from the waitresses, and we were happily seated as soon as we walked in. Food was swiftly served while I was enjoying a chit-chat and a glass of iced mocha.
Neat!

Neat!

A modern Beer Garden without the greens.

The juicy gourmet Teriyaki Pork Burger (RM10.90). Teriyaki sauce was seen dripping out of this huge burger, yeah I mean it is so big that we can’t put it into our mouth at one bite. Pork was chewable, thick, with a bit of soft bone mixed in. And burger was topped with a fried egg. Asian burgers are truly lovable, and I’ll certainly miss this one.
Excellent!

Excellent!

Seafood Spaghetti with Tomato Sauce (RM17.90) served with fresh prawns.

Char Siew Pizza (RM23.90). Surprisingly, it is not heavily mayonised in their serving. Smooth with golden crisp crust, this is one special pizza which you don’t get much often anywhere else.

The meal is not complete without a dessert. We ordered a slice of Cheese Cake (RM6.90) to fit the bill. Creamy and light, it filled us up without overstuffing us. But it can be better with a more solid base.tongue

Indulging @ West 57th Smile Sep 07, 2012

Hidden among the ladies section in Pavillion’s Parkson, Zang Toi Café is a place that is quiet and cozy at the same time for a teatime chat or to rest your feet after a shopping hunt.
Gothic!

Gothic!

Shoppers enjoying a good meal and a chat under the chandeliers.

My old time favourite: the WEST 57TH Club Sandwich (served fresh salad), is enormously huge, topped with layer and layer of sausages, eggs, tomatoes, and chicken chunks. It is a challenge for not spilling the ingredients out while eating. And I can guarantee that this sandwich is so big that it is impossible to fit in anyone’s mouth.

Our dessert: a slice of Banana Chocolate Cake with ice cream. For those who crave for more, do go ahead with ordering the ala carte cake which is 3X bigger than this size =)

The Set Menu is priced at RM23 (tax inclusive) comes with a cup of tea punch and dessert.

Heavenly Omu Smile Sep 07, 2012

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Seafood | Ramen/Udon/Soba

Being a wheat person, there is a sense of happiness the first time I’ve tasted Kita no Zen‘s omu fried rice. Newly open this year, this restaurant is just above the escalator in the middle wing of The Gardens. What is so special with this omu thingy? Well, this is certainly one dish you can’t get in any other Japanese restaurants.

Ordinary yes, rice was fried with ketchup and all covered with egg and mayonnaise. Although the description is sounds like our local ‘nasi goreng pattaya’, this omu is so smooth that I feel like swallowing my meal. It is light and fried egg has cheese in it. Together with the mayo, it tasted superb!

Omu Rice (RM13.00). Love it! Portion is just nice for ladies.

Miso Hotate Ramen (RM16.80) is full of big fat hotate. Not short-changing you for sure.

Ice chill dessert from Hokkaido, Macha Crepe (RM9.80). This green tea delight is not too sweet, another must try!

The place is good for office dinner as it cater private sections with more seats. Zen ambience with open kitchen concept, there are hidden lights along the bar seats(with no rotating sushi) and fun sofa seats if you prefer a modern approach.

Budget Cafe in Jaya33 OK May 28, 2013

If your lunch budget does not fit in the Pavillion Oriental, then MJ Cafe would be a good choice to have your stomach filled. First impression when looking at the menu – great place with tons of variety, western, thai, local flavoured cuisine and the in-between. Amazing this cafe can cover it all with their budgeted offering. The crowd too seems promising enough that this cafe is indeed worth a try. But does it all tasted as great? We’ll find out soon.
OK

OK

Napolit Spaghetti Set RM 9.90 comes with a drink. Simple set, filling and not anything you would come back for. Priced reasonably, the chicken is fried to crisp and spaghetti is decent.
Curry soup. Yeiks

Curry chicken in a bread RM8.50 looks good but was absolutely disappointing. The curry is watery and tasted more like a tom yum soup. Served hot, and the chicken was a few chunks drown in the bread... a very huge bread that was not meant to be finished.

Western cuisine is not the cafe’s specialty, I assure you. I did regret not ordering ‘fried rice’ after looking at what every table is having. So next time I’ll better go for the rice to be on the safe side.
