It was my birthday weekend and Becks brought me to celebrate my birthday at Rama V. I've never been here and its my 1st time i realize there is fine Thai cuisine in KL. We were running late already, you know girls, i just dono wat to wear on my birthday=) I i only knew very last min, it's a lunch, n not celebrating during dinner.

So when we reach there, Becks told the table was reserved under Jane, my name=) You know the weird thing, the waitress reply, " yes, they are already here." I'm like, "who is already here?" Without getting much time to digest the thought in my mind, i was surprised by 2 of y best friends, xiao mei and ade!

i was shock at the same time happy for them to keep it a secret from me=) Since today it was a treat from them, i let them order. I was happily chatting with my babe Xiao Mei.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is very elegant but simple. With a modern taste with a little touch of Thai decorations. There is a pond just outside of the restaurant and a few private rooms for more private dinners. It is packed on a sunday afternoon, and i heard its already fully bonked for sat and sun's dinner. The 1st dish is the appetizer Chor Ladda. It is Flower Shaped Dumplings Stuffed with Minced Chicken and Peanut. This is a chef recommended dish. The flower shape dumpling is so pretty i barely wana eat it=) The skin of the dumpling is just nice, not too thick nor too thin. It tasted sweet and you can feel the crunchy peanuts and also the taste of fried shallots in it. I dun quite like this dish because i don't eat fried shallots, but my friends love it. We ordered this fish dish named Pla Dang Sam Rod, Fried fillet Red snapper fish served with 3 taste Chilli sauce. The fish is fried till crispy perfection add on with the sweet and spicy sauce. Yums! Great for fish lovers. We ordered 2 Tom Yam Kai Reu Kung Reu Talay, Its basically clear tomyam soup, with choice of seafood, chicken or just prawns. We ordered the seafood one. This soup is clear but it has an unsuspected taste to it. Very spicy, sour and flavorful. Totally mouth watering. We also ordered Gaeng Kaew Wan Nuer reu Kai Reu Kung, basically means Green curry. There is a choice of chicken, beef, prawns and venison. We ordered the chicken one. The curry is thick with the coconut milk aroma. Spicy and milky at the same time. Quite a big portion with a lot of lean chicken meat. We also ordered this, the only dish that is not spicy, Pad Pak Benjarong. It is simply fried mixed vegetable with shrimp, chicken and squid. Simple and nice, great to eat with white rice. Last it would be dessert time. Tab tim krob, Red Rubies with Jackfruit in Coconut Milk this is a famous Thai dessert that my mum would used to make. For this dessert it is a bit disappointment as it is quite tasteless. We only can taste the coconut milk, but it is not sweet for a dessert.

Subway its just few shops away from my office and ever since they started their breakfast set, I've having subway for breakfast at least once a week. For those that don't know, subway have this breakfast set that is on rm6.30 for your choice of Chicken slice and egg, breakfast strip, Tuna and egg or cheese and egg. You can customize with your own choice of vegetables and sauces. This set also comes with a hot drink, choose from white/ black coffee, milo, tea tarik or Boh tea. Anyway this post is not about the sandwich. Its about the yummy freshly baked cookies!

I always ordered the breakfast set plus 3 cookies. 3 cookies for rm 4. There are 4 flavours that are chocolate chip, double chocolate chip, white chocolate macadamia nut, or oatmeal raisin! I love the oatmeal raisin the most, but this morning the oatmeal raisin is still not ready yet. So i ordered the other 3. I ordered chocolate chip, double chocolate chip, white chocolate macadamia nut. The size is quite big in size, one cookies is almost as big a a child's palm. I love sweet things and i can guarantee this would give you a sugar rush! Yes, its super sweet but super nice. This is the double chocolate chip, chocolate flavored cookies packed with melting soft chocolate chips. yums! Every bite you will have a bursting chocolate flavor.This is the chocolate chip flavor. A normal cookie batter add up with chocolate chips. This is also full with chocolate chips soft and melting. It is just simply irresistible. Last is the white chocolate macadamia nut, packed will white chocolate and nuts. If you love nuts, this would be the one. The white chocolate however is different with the chocolate chip. Is is always hard and crunchy, almost the same texture with the nuts. This 3 cookies is packed with yummy sugar rush! a bit expensive for 4 cookies, but great for snacks or tea! One good advantage for this outlet, all prices are nett not government tax or service tax will be charged.

I've tried this restaurant once when my bosses came from overseas. Lucky me, it was a treat by my boss as the food here is quite pricy. When i saw the deal in We buy I immediately bought it. It was a set for 2. This picture above does not own or taken by me. I took it from the deal page.

Plain Biryani RiceWhile waiting for the food to be serve, i've taken some pictures of the current promotion in Mantra. On that day, i forgot to bring the printed voucher for verification. I inform the server if i could dine in without giving the printed voucher. The server was so nice and he told me not to worry and show us to our seats.

He told me that we are the 1st one to redeem this voucher and he is not very sure which set that we are taking. Later on he checked with the manager and came back to explain what are the dishes that we will be enjoying today. He is just so kind and patient with us. That's a picture of me looking through the menu. Actually they do serve other than Indian food. They do serve local food.
This restaurant has a very contemporary design, with sofas and a very magnificent view of Sunway Lagoon theme park. You surely can relax and enjoy your meal to the max. Food is serve! There are 2 pieces of chicken. I feel its actually 1 piece, they just cut it in to 2 smaller pieces. Perfectly roasted with the spices and herbs. When it's serve it's still hot and tender in the inside.

The lamb dish is Lamb Rogan Joshvery. It has a very think aroma of the spices together with cardamom-tinged juice and top up with a bit of saffron. For the tongue, the marvelous gravy made to a perfect balance of sugar and spice. The meat is very tender and the curry is just simply delicious.

Next is the butter chicken. You might find it weird, how can a curry dish name butter chicken right? When you have the 1st bite, you really can feel the aroma of the butter that melts in your mouth. It is superb when eaten with nan or white rice. Not to say, they serve only chicken meat and no bones at all.

Next is the vegetable dish that is the ladies fingers. Normally i dun fancy ladies fingers, due to the only ones I've eaten are the ones in curry fish. But this is a dry curry dish that blend so nicely the Indian herbs together with the ladies fingers. The ladies fingers are soft and yet you can feel the spiciness all together.

The server later on came and told us the Biryani will be serve a little late as they are still preparing. He gave us complimentary nan while waiting for the Briyani to be serve. The nan is serve hot and it is definably yummy to dip it into the curries.

After 15 mins the Briyani Rice is serve. By that time we are actually quite full. we only manage to finish a quarter of the rice. To our surprise, all the curry dishes are very big in portions. This set could easily be serve for 3 persons. I could say, i really like the service, the server came and apologies because they serve the rice rather late, and they also asked us if we like our food or do we need anything more. I really love the food, the portion and the service. They really make you feel like you are their VVIP. And they treat all their customers like this! greeting starts from the moment you step in till the moment you step out.

Last Friday, I met up with my good friend LULU, she just moved down to KL and i wanted to bring her out for some nice food. Since she is staying in Kuchai Lama, i decided to bring her to eat Chicken Hot pot located in Kuchai Entrepreneur Park. When we reach around 8pm, its already quite packed. This picture is the indoor seating and the below is the outdoor seating. The restaurant is not very big and has not much tables and chairs. we prefer to sit outside as it is more cooling, inside is a bit stuffy and normally you will need to share tables with other customers. As you can see from the picture, the table and chairs are quite simple, they use the steal ones where normally the mamak uses for out door seating.

One bad thing about this restaurant is, the menu is fully in mandarin. If you do not know chinese, may be you can just ask help from the waitress. There are a few types of hot pot you can choose from. There is chicken, pork, beef, fish and prawns. most of the choices comes in 3 sizes that is small, medium and large.

From the name chicken Hot Pot, we know that its surely spicy! you can even choose the level of spiciness for your hot pot. We ordered the large beef hot pot, since Becks dun really can take spicy, so we ordered the minimal hot one=) This is the stand to place the clay pot. Later on they will place a small fire under the pot to make sure the food is always pippin hot. Our hot pot is finally serve! As you can see from the photo, the portion is quite big. The beef is serve with other ingredients such as carrots, celery, parsley, white radish and onions. normally when they serve the gravy is thicker and spicy. Later on you can add soup to make it less thick. The soup too comes in spicy and non spicy versions. The soup is very flavorful with very thick beef aroma. Do remember to bring extra tissue box as you will be needing it after drinking the spicy soup!This is another picture of the clay pot on top of the fire stand. See the gravy is so pippin hot where it is still boiling. The beef is very tender. the other vegetables are also cooked till tender. Its like a all in one pot, with meat and vegetables. For some people who wan to eat more, the restaurant actually sells uncooked meatball, mushrooms, vegetables ranges from rm1-4 for you to add in your hot pot. Its like eating steamboat where you can also add in other ingredients. I would recommend to try the beef, very tender and juicy!

This is another review of Tian Tian lai Restaurent. I visit this restaurant aka food court quite often as i love their marmite chicken, its near my house and it is affordable. Lately, there is a change of ordering system going on, the Chinese owner no longer take orders and the foreign workers take orders now. They do not have menu last time and now they have printed menus for customer to order food more conveniently.

Due to the jam in front of summit, i was super late for the dinner and my friend ordered 1st. When the food came, to her surprise, they served the wrong chicken dish. The workers must have heard wrongly and my friend does not speak Cantonese either and my marmite chicken became butter chicken. it is basically fried chicken covered with friend egg strips with butter. It has a strong amora of the butter and the chicken is crispy. The key to this dish is the curry leaves and have an exotic scent will bring out the rich fragrance of the butter. But to my disappointment, the chicken is tasteless and very oily. Next we ordered Hot plate Toufu with egg. Becareful of this dish as it is serve on the very hot hotplate. Toufu were cut into squares and deep fried. A sauce of mince meat and egg are poured over the toufu. The sauce is nice when eat with white rice. last would be greens. Stir fry romaine lettuce is always my fav. Crunchy lettuce just simply fry with garlic slices with a dash of oil.

Would not order the butter chicken, i still prefer marmite chicken.
