I remember paying a little over RM10 for the grilled chicken with fried rice. It was pretty pale in comparison with many other dishes I've previously tried here. As you can see, the grilled chicken was burnt slightly and some parts, especially the thinner sides were getting a little bit too hard and dry. Definitely preferred the juicy chicken chop. Fried rice could not compete with the 'Chinese style' ones where they use a wok as it was missing that 'fire smell'.

Plum Tomato Juice OK Jul 29, 2012   (Related Review)

We should all step out of our comfort zone once in a while to experience new pleasures in life. This is what I told myself when I took a sip of the Plum Tomato Juice from ZenQ. I must admit that it tasted really unique but I didn't quite like it (my friend did though). Obviously, it tastes of sour tomato juice then the plum taste hits you. It's a sweet-sour drink. The cup is opaque here but the drink is actually a lovely peach colour. At RM 5.90, it could be a healthier alternative to soft drinks.

Strawberry yogurt OK Jul 28, 2012

I find the idea of Stickhouse to be special. After choosing your flavour of gelato, you may then choose a dip and a topping. Of course, these come with extra charges and the end product can be pretty pricey!

This is yogurt strawberry with milk chocolate half dip and covered in pistachio grains. There is also a choice of dark chocolate and white chocolate dip. As for the toppings, hazlenut and almond are also available. I didn't really like the strawberry yogurt (probably because I'm used to artificially flavoured ones) but even if I did, the price is too high to be an occasional treat.

Unagi sushi OK Jul 28, 2012   (Related Review)

This is some sort of unagi sushi which we all agreed wasn't that great. The unagi was sliced so thinly, it could have been blown away by the wind. Although the unagi itself had some flavour, we would have preferred the thick brown sauce which usually accompanies it as it was a little dry. The rice tasted okay but it broke apart easily when we were taking it with our chopsticks.

Steak OK Jul 28, 2012   (Related Review)

Also priced at about RM 30+, we did not really like the steak compared to the lamb shank. It was well done and a little too dry. A big chunk of it was bones too so the portion actually isn't very big. The gravy which I hoped could save the steak wasn't spectacular either. I'm not sure what gravy it is but it's not peppery or smoky. Just thick brown sauce that's savoury. However, I liked the vegetables that were soft enough to eat but were still crunchy.
