Canton-i Smile Jun 30, 2012
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles | Dim sum

I just finished movie with my girl in Sunway Pyramid one Friday and it is already dinner time when we came out from the cinema. I felt like having roasted duck but I didn't want to fight with the heavy traffic outside and went to Damansara for my favourite roasted duck. So I stayed back in the mall and went to the Hong Kong restaurant that serves one of the best roasted cuisines in Klang Valley, which is Canton-I.

Our dinner was very simple, where we ordered a plate of roasted duck rice each instead of a few ala-carte dishes to go with plain rice. The roasted duck had a crispy skin with a thin layer of fat hidden beneath the skin, and a succulent meat texture that made every bite so mind blowing. I especially like the rice, as it was ladled with some flavourful gravy. Portion was not big, but I did feel full after finishing the whole plate.

Secret Recipe OK Jun 30, 2012

I spotted something new among the arrays of cakes in one of Secret Recipe outlets in KL yesterday, which was Chocolate Strawberry Cake. Both my favourite, that is chocolate and strawberry were combining into one, how could I not ordering it?

I thought of having a well stand cake but the staff gave me a piece of fallen cake. I think they should make some improvement in serving services. The cake had chocolate sponge cake, fresh cream and strawberry jam layering one over another, and lacing with chocolate cream at the side. Sponge cake was light with bitter sweetness, balanced well with the heavy strawberry sauce. It was a cake which was beautiful to look at, better when eaten.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Smile Jun 30, 2012

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co, the restaurant name already tells you what is their speciality, that is-SHRIMP. This is definitely the place for you if you like shrimp and seafood, and shrimp dishes appear in almost every section of the menu, from appetizer to main course, but of course not in the dessert. I don't think you want to see a bed of shrimps sitting on top of your vanilla ice cream after a shrimp feast. Feel like having shrimp and fish at the same when I was in this restaurant one day, I ordered Bourbon Street Barramundi, which is one of the highly recommended dish.

Bourbon Street Barramundi
The Bourbon Street Barramundi is served with lightly pan seared barramundi, shrimp, and topped with orange coloured sauce consisting pumpkin mash, potato, and vegetables. It is finished with deep fried tortilla strips, which serves more as decorations but I ate them all. The sauce tastes like thousand island dressing, but it is actually a special sauce made in house with thick, creamy, salty and flavourful taste. Seafood was very fresh, and I have no complains with this dish, just the portion is too huge for me to finish alone.

Restoran Teo Chew Moi OK Jun 30, 2012
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Porridge

I am a Cantonese and my mum cooks very nice porridge, which is gooey, thick, more flavorful and usually cooked with fish, chicken or other meat. However, when I come across Teo Chew Moi, I find that their porridge is more to watery version, where complete rice can still be seen. Though they are both of different version and I like cantonese porridge more, I do crave for Teo Chew porridge once in a while and Teo Chew Moi in Bandar Puteri will be the place I look for.

Restaurant Teo Chew Moi serves a lot of side dishes to go alongside with your porridge. They have salted egg, otak otak, perserved vegetables, braised pork, braised taufu and many more.

They serve two kinds of carbs, which is porridge and white rice. So for those who doesn't like porridge, you can always get rice here. And they are of free refill.

One of the dishes I like there will be fried egg with preserved vegetables. It is flavourful with a distinct saltiness from the preserved vegetables, goes very well with rice.

Chatime Smile Jun 30, 2012

Categories : Taiwanese | Stall / Warung | Halal | Juices / Bubble Tea / Tea / Yogurt

Among so many Taiwanese drinks which is growing rapidly in KL, Gong Cha is my first choice, and then Ochado, ZenQ and lastly Chatime. I do like Chatime at first, but when it grows, it grows too fast, so fast that I can see Chatime eveywhere in every corner of Klang Valley. And the downside comes, which is their quality drops so much. There is no consistency for the taste in every outlets. This actually makes me feel disappointed.

Passion Fruit QQ
Passian Fruit QQ comes in a happy yellow colour, which different colours jelly sitting at the bottom. Those jellys are chewy and QQ, however the drinks is watery but overly sweet, even though I ask for only 50% sweetness. Imagine you are drinking a diluted drinks and only get to taste some artificial sweetness. Horrible.
