I am a Cantonese and my mum cooks very nice porridge, which is gooey, thick, more flavorful and usually cooked with fish, chicken or other meat. However, when I come across Teo Chew Moi, I find that their porridge is more to watery version, where complete rice can still be seen. Restaurant Teo Chew Moi serves a lot of side dishes to go alongside with your porridge. They have salted egg, otak otak, perserved vegetables, braised pork, braised taufu and many more.

They serve two kinds of carbs, which is porridge and white rice. So for those who doesn't like porridge, you can always get rice here. And they are of free refill.

One of the dishes I like there will be fried egg with preserved vegetables. It is flavourful with a distinct saltiness from the preserved vegetables, goes very well with rice.
