Hometown is always the best place for us, especially when we talk about foods. In my hometown, my husband`s favourite is always chee cheong fun. In the Kampar style of chee cheong fun, the steamed sheets of rice flour are hand cut into narrow strips that looked like thick kway teow. Kampar chee cheong fun is eaten with a variety of different gravy and sauces as well as accompanying side dishes. He choose curry as the gravyThe chee cheong fun felt soft and light tasting. The hand made chee cheong
Those chu pei (pork skin) is the best combination with chee cheong fun, unlike those in KL. KL`s chu pei (pork skin) was thick and dry even though it soak in the curry gravy. Kampar`s pork skin is more elastic and juicy. Besides that the price is more cheaper compare to KL. With this portion of chee cheong fun and side dishes (pork skin, tauhu, meat balls & eggplant), it cost on RM7.00.
If you feel like wanna have a try on it, please wake up a bit early since it`s only open in the morning at the medan selera food court. Of course there is a night as well, but it is different from this stall.
