My sister was nagging me to bring her to try Seeri Thai Authentic restaurant after my friend told her that they serve delicious Pad Thai but she is not a big fan Pad Thai so she go for Basil Chicken. So I brought her there for dinner. Seeri Thai Authentic Restaurant is located same row with Kayu Nasi Kandar. They serve Thai Cuisine. A couple of people occupied the restaurant when we arrived around 8pm. The ambiance of the Restaurant was simple yet comfortable. She orders her favorite Basil chick

Basil Chicken was okay. It was cooked more to Chinese Style with a lot of vegetables and soy sauce rather than Thai style with more Basil Leaves and Minced Chicken. It still taste good but we were expecting Thai style Basil chicken with a rich Basil taste and good spicy kick in it.

It was an okay dinner for us. Friends service but I wish they serve food more to Thai Style rather than Chinese Style as it is a Thai Restaurant and not a Chinese Restaurant. We went there hoping to fulfil our cravings for Thai Basil Chicken but what we get in return was a food to fill our hunger. Total bill was RM 15.50 for foods and drinks.

Most popular and staple Thai dishes - pork phad kha phau (cooked with basil, in sauce) and green curry. Phad kha pau is my favourite, whether it's beef or chicken or pork, but of course pork will be the best. It's sweet, and very fragrant - if you're not used to it, might feel like eating perfume.

Fried Chicken Wings. Normally in a Thai restaurant, we would go for pandan chicken. However, this time, we didn't go for the pandan chicken, we took this recommended chicken wings instead. Four pieces of chicken wings were served and the size was quite big. The wings were well-marinated with some Thai herbs and it was not oily at all. It was not too salty. Quite a good dish I can say.

Stir fried kangkung. Well, vegetables is our must-order dish during a meal. This time, we ordered the stir fried kangkung as we were not in the mood for belacan kangkung that day. The portion was quite big for two person. The kangkung was stir fried with some chili and garlic. It was crunchy and not too salty, not too spicy. This was just a normal dish and nothing to shout about.

Tomyam Seafood comes in 3 sizes and we ordered a small one. It has prawns, squid, fish fillet and fan mushrooms. The prawns were medium sized with their shell being removed, sweet and fresh. The fish fillet was soft. The squid was springy. The soup was slightly spicy and slightly sour, suitable for people who couldn't take spicy food. It was not that bad actually. Rich with herbs and spices, it was alright.

We had the Yam Voon Send (RM 12) for starters, a common Thai salad consisting of glass noodle and fresh seafood tossed in a lime juice and chilli mixture. Served cold, this was quite a nice palate opener with its tangy flavour. The glass noodles was nicely done al dente style and still springy, and the lime juice and spicy dressing brought out the sweet fresh flavour of the seafood very well. Thumbs up!

We had one final starter that we had ordered that strangely appeared last - but hey, you know the saying, you save the best for late. The Yam Pak Bung Krop (RM 15) may have very well been one of my favourites of the night. It's a simple dish of kangkung, lightly battered with flour and deep fried with Seeri's special brown sauce and Thai sweet chilli sauce drizzled all over it. A great crispy twist to your every day kangkung.

A Thai meal isn't really a Thai meal without Tom Yum, is it? We had a small serving of Seeri's Tom Yam Goong (with prawn) to be shared (RM 18) amongst the four of us. To my surprise, this wasn't as spicy as the tom yums elsewhere, but had a more tangy, sweetish quality to it. Unexpected coming from an authentic Thai place, but still good and easy to drink, with a fair enough quantity of prawn and mushrooms to it.

We had inititally wanted the Pad Pong Curried Squid, but as they were all out of squid for the night, the waitress offered to do a Pad Pong Curry with Prawn for us instead (RM 20). It was my first time trying a Pad Pong Curry, but I found it very tasty! The egg-drop gravy was sweet, sour and spicy all at once, and the prawns used were fresh and springy. One of our favourite dishes of the night.

A good dish to have with rice is the Minced Pork with Basil. This turned out to be a piquant offering with lots of raw onions and fresh garden herbs. The flavours were strong and robust, and went well with the nicely-marinated minced pork. Quite glad we picked to have this with pork, as I think some of the flavour would have been missing if chicken had been used.

A must-have at any Thai meal is of course the Green Curry Chicken (RM 15). We're actually more used to the beef variety, but they don't seem to to do that version in Seeri Authentic Thai. This had a slight kick to it, though it looked fairly mild. The eggplant pieces weren't well-cooked enough, resulting in it still tasting a little green. Note that Seeri is a non-halal place, so you can opt for a Green Curry Pork if you'd like!
