According to its FB, described "Sweet delights made from glutinous rice flour, pure extraction of fruits, kidney bean and fresh cream"

I am a Mochi lover. I have been seeing one of the stalls at Tokyo Street, Pavilion. Stopped by the stall a few times but never attempted one as I worried on the sweetness.

One fine day, we saw a new outlet, a bigger Kiosk located at the centre of The Gardens. They displayed their products so exclusively like a piece of precious jewel.

Due to many flavours in the list with different prices, taken us quite awhile to choose one. Finally we decided to try their signature item that is Sakura, cost RM4/piece.

You are advised to thaw your mochi for 10 minutes before consumption as it has been kept in the chiller cabinet that set in a lower temperature.

My first bite, the Mochi was certainly soft in texture and chewy... this is the kind of feeling that I fancy Mochi in particular.

Then my next concern was the filling, whether it would be very sweet, but it's not... I have not tasted Sakura before, hence, what I could taste is of mixture of flower tea fragrance while at the middle of the filling, the white in colour is more like fresh cream to me (luckily it was not the condensed milk). All mixed it in the mouth gave the presence of flower tea & milky taste. It's delectable!

Well, I will return very soon to try their best seller items.

Well, if you love Chestnuts then I suppose you'll go goo-goo-gaa-gaa over this one. I do love Chestnuts, but for some reason I only love it in it's original roasted form..definitely not when grounded into a paste and mixed with cream. Which is what needed to be done to create this Chestnut Cream Mochi. So ..ya.. I would say it tasted average for me, not really the best.

When it says Purple Potato, it really means Purple Potato Mochi. Like the Japanese type of sweet potatoes which is purple in color and much more expensive than the regular Indonesian/Malaysian orange or yellow types. Which is why this Mochi tastes so utterly delicious! If you're a potato lover you're definitely going to love this one..guaranteed! So whatcha waiting for ?

This particular Blueberry Cream is labelled as "Must Try"... not "best Seller", but "must-try".. hmmm I wonder what's the difference ? Like maybe this one is also super nice but then doesn't really gained the sales volume it so much deserved ? haa, haa.. Either way, well, most importantly is it's delicious. Another of my favorite Mochi flavor. The blueberry paste's super yummy

Hmmm.. well, if you're not into dark, rich bitter-sweet chocolate ganache (which goes for RM4 a piece) and prefers chocolate cream instead, than this one is more for you. It's slightly cheaper at RM3.50 and is much more creamier, as its' name aptly suggests. I actually much prefers the dark chocolate but this one is actually quite alright. Worth a try if you're a chocolate lover

I have to say that though I'm crazy over Mochi Sweets I do not really fancy their not-too-strategic location at The Gardens. Situated on the 2nd Floor, it's not reachable-friendly to say the least. Unless on that particular day I'm super craving for Mochi Sweets then only I will purposely walk all the way to reach the kiosk. Or else it's sorely forgotten because the location is so out of the way!

Their mochi prices range is in between 3.5 - 4 ringgit for each. Its depends on what you order. The one i love the most is black sesame, because soft and strong sesame taste.

Murah pun murah..

Mochi Sweets is a glutinous rice flour pounded into a soft chewy casing and filled with cream. Their have 12 flavors for you to choose. I have chosen Dark Chocolate, Sakura, Red Bean, Purple Potato, Peach Cream and Mango Yogurt. Before eating you are required to thaw your mochi for 30 minutes. That's to ensure that the skin is soft and chewy enough to enjoy. The purple potato was nicer. It wasn't too sweet and the cream was thick and smooth.

Have you come across it yet in major shopping malls like Pavilion, The Gardens and Sunway? I actually passed by it a few times before giving it a try. I was never a big fan of mochi. The mochi that can be widely found in pasar malams are the rice cake coated with peanuts. But the mochis sold in Mochi Sweets are the mochis orginated from Japan itself. Mochi from Japan are rice cake made of glutinous rice flour moulded into round shape and has filling in it.

They have so many many many many flavors. I really wanted to try all! The size of one mochi is really big and can be shared by 2 people. They display their many flavors of mochi for their customers to choose. The choices of flavors are Black Chocolate, Sakura, Red Bean, Green Tea, Chocolate Mousse, Caramel Macchiato, Cream Chocolate, Purple Potato, Mango Yoghurt, Mango Mousse, Honey Lemon Cream, Chestnut Cream, Peach Cream, Bluberry Cream and lastly, Straberry. All of them sounds so yummy right? And look at their display. Don't you feel like having them all? They flavors they have are also quite interesting, like the Sakura. They made a flavor from the Japanese national flower, Sakura. I want to try that one the next time and also the purple potato

I tried two flavors which are Green Tea and Black Chocolate. Each mochi costed RM4.50. You might think it's a little expansive for a piece of mochi. But I really find it very worthy to buy because of the size of the mochi and also the taste of it. I've never tasted such nice mochi before. It was really worth my money. The skin of the mochi was slightly cold but the filling in it was really creamy. The green tea was really nice. The black chocolate was a little too bitter. If you're not fan of dark chocolate, don't give that a try. The cream chocolate is a better fit for you.

Mochi Sweets never fails to tempt me with their aromatic, soft dough with the chilling ice-cream-like filling in it. Sakura Mochi @ RM4.00One of their best-selling item is the sakura flavour. Then the filling is made of very creamy white texture with red bean paste. It is very well-stuffed with rich paste, but not overly sweet for my liking. However, it doesnt ooze in the mouth, or perhaps I should heat it further before I consume so that the cream has the melt-in-the-mouth feel.
