Lai Lai Taiwan Casual Dining (Closed)

Bubble Red Milk TeaThis blended beverage of tea is made famous in Taiwan. And we need not to wait too long before it gets mushrooming up over here. This glass of milk tea by Lai Lai Casual Dining Restaurant is quite aromatic with the tea fragrance. Glad that it is not too sweet but done just nice with the right consistency of milk and tea. The added bubbles of red milk is quite a chewy companion to have with, together with the cubes of ice that serves as a good thirst-quencher too.

Oh this was rather refreshing i would say. The red bean and jelly were usually not my favourite but this was actually well matched. I ordered this out of curiosity and it turned out fine. It was quite rich and a little milky but overall, the taste was satisfying.I would hope that there were pearls in this too!

Oh, this was a dish with different flavours!There was sweet and savoury in this. I liked the braised nuts and the egg together with some preserved mustard. For those who love rice like me, this was definitely enjoyable! The pork was tender and soft, easy for me to chew. It was simple yet filled with so many different flavours that will surely surprise you.

To those who are wishing to restore their energy after a hard day at work, I would highly recommend this dish. The duck meat was tender and when bitten into, it was juicy and you could really taste the herbs. Duck was used instead of the usual pork and I think it brought out the real taste of this nourishing soup.

This is an authentic Taiwanese delicacy. We had lots of this in Shihlin night market when we were on a trip to Taiwan few years back. This was pretty similar to those. The chicken was marinated well with five-spice powder, cooking wine, soy, sugar. I didn't particularly liked how they served this with fried basil leaves. Apart from that, the chicken was juicy and the skin was crispy!

This beef noodle is supposingly pretty popular in Taiwan. So, I decided to try it out since it was quite famous. The moment they served this, I was taken aback by the strong aroma of beefy broth. There were a whole combination of various herbs and spices in the broth because it was savoury. The beef was also tender and soft, it was pretty easy to chew it

这扣肉拉面的汤底应该是和排骨拉面一样的，配料也是海带、木耳。所以就还是一样的好味！！不过.....主角却换了是扣肉。这扣肉肥瘦均匀，不会太肥或太瘦，加上长时间炖煮，整个就是入口即化！正！！

这道红烧排骨拉面的大汤（汤底）听说是熬了一整天的呢！！是用猪大骨还有鸡（如没记错）来熬的！味道感觉有一点点像是日本味噌汤。排骨方面真的软，夹起来就“骨肉分离”了.....面方面爽口弹牙，真的不错吃.....

这道盐酥鸡，裹的炸粉不会很厚，但是外面还是酥脆，而内里却是软嫩，蛮喜欢这口感。不过味道方面，或者个人比较喜欢重口味一点，而这盐酥鸡的调味方面对我来说是淡了一点点。不过和着九层塔(basil leaves)一起吃，整体来说还是很不错的！！

Pepper Salt ChickenThis Pepper Salt Chicken definitely makes a delightful snack that is loved by all walks of life. Crispy on the outside, but remains succulent in the inside. The chicken cutlets have been nicely marinated that even the chicken breast bites is toothsome! Special Chilli Sauce I find this this chilli sauce pretty special and nice! Unlike the conventional one which is being dominated by spiciness, this relish on the contrary is much more gentle yet aromatic. There is also some crispy flakes that you can bite on as you take a few tea spoons to be mixed with your noodles or rice. With some caramel-like flavor, it is toothsome yet not fiery hot. Anyway, it still comes with a decent companion of red chilli oil.
