2015-08-25
In her previous article, blogger Elee Yi from Weekend Treat has recommended to us some great restaurants to visit in the weekends. In this article, she'll bring us to explore more nice restaurants in Setapak. Setapak is where Elee stays and a fast-developing area in KL with lots of new and interesting restaurants!

1. Restoran TST & AT @ Danau Kota

Restaurant TST & AT is a newly opened Chinese restaurant in Setapak combining both “Tin Siong Tin” Seafood and “Ah Tau” Bak Kut Teh. The broth of their signature Claypot Bak Kut Teh is concentrated and intense with the natural sweetness of pork. The herbal flavour is strong, yet not too overpowering. Spicy Seafood Claypot is another highly recommended best seller. The curry broth is still boiling when served and loaded with many fresh seafood ingredients - crabs, prawns, squids, fish, cuttlefish and fu chok. It is very fragrant and not too spicy.

2. I Know Pasta @ PV128

Originated from Taiwan, I Know Pasta in Setapak offers a wide range of delicious pasta at affordable prices. Customers can enjoy the Western food in a very comfortable setting. We tried their Spaghetti Carbonara, which is served with smoked bacon, string bean, egg, butter, cheese powder, olive oil, and tossed with thick and creamy carbonara. Another house specialty is the Spaghetti with Squid in Sepia Ink Sauce. The intense black color and strong iodine taste makes this pasta very special. The spaghetti is served with a generous portion of fresh squids. So delicious!

3. Tappers @ PV128

Tappers Cafe is another franchise restaurant in Setapak that has landed in PV128. A big signboard of the café can be seen from the main road. They serve a good selection of mouth-watering local food and western food. One of the most popular dishes here is the Hainanese Chicken Chop. It comes with potatoes, peas, and toast. The whole chicken chop is moistened with thick gravy rich in the strong aroma of onions and tomatoes, and they use the best chicken part - chicken leg and thigh meat!

4. Eleven Brother's @ Jalan Genting Klang

Restaurant Eleven Brother's is located at Jalan Genting Klang, beside Chuan Kee Bak Kut Teh and Ho Ho Steamboat. Their menu features a wide variety of cooked dishes, including chicken, meat, vegetables, bean curd and egg. We tried their Stir-fried Fish Slices with Ginger. The portion is big and the taste is good. We also tried the Stir-fried Pork in Kam Heong Style. The aromatic Kam Heong sauce makes every bite flavorful and pleasurable. We enjoyed the nice Chinese food and good service from this Chinese restaurant in Setapak.

5. De Pastry Chef @ PV128

Located on the first floor of PV128, De Pastry Chef is an excellent place in Setapak for customers to enjoy breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and supper, as the shop operates from 8am until 12:30am. A good selection of Western dishes are offered here, including pasta, baked rice, noodles, chicken chop and desserts. Many regulars come here for their delicious cakes, which are freshly made without adding any preservative. We like their fruit tarts with fresh fruit toppings. A few interesting restaurants in Setapak to try out this weekends!
